In this episode of Westside Radio, Julio G sits down with legendary DJ and producer Tony A. the Wizard – a pivotal figure in the early days of L.A. Hip Hop and one of the masterminds behind the Roadium Mixtapes.
We dive deep into Tony A.’s journey as a Latino DJ breaking into the West Coast scene, meeting a young Dr. Dre, and eventually teaming up with Hi-C and becoming the tour DJ for both Hi-C and DJ Quik. Tony shares stories about producing for Hi-C, working on iconic mixtapes alongside Dr. Dre and Eazy-E, and the unique energy of the Roadium Swap Meet era.
We also talk about how Roadium Radio was born and what podcasting has meant to him now, five years later.
