  • 12 Practical Tips For Using AI in a Small Business | Ep162
    Oct 13 2026

    AI is everywhere right now.

It can write your emails, brainstorm your next offer, help with content, create images, research ideas, and generally make you wonder how you ever managed without it.

    But here’s the thing.

Just because AI can do something doesn’t mean your business should do it.

New tools appear seemingly every five minutes, everyone has an opinion about the latest model, and there is an ever growing pressure to “get on board”.

But what if you stopped for a moment and asked a different question?

    Not “What can AI do?”

But “What does my business actually need, and how can AI support that well?”

That is where ethical AI comes in.

We recently explored this with Amanda Jeffs from She Is AI, a New Zealand business pioneering in ethical AI. 👏

  • Personal Leadership: What If You’re Already Enough? | Ep 161
    Sep 15 2026

    What if you’re already enough?

    • Not once you have achieved the next goal.
    • Not once the business is bigger.
    • Not once you feel more confident.
    • Not once you have finally stopped second guessing yourself.

    Now.

It is a deceptively simple question. And for anyone who has spent years striving, achieving, performing and trying to get things right, it can be a surprisingly uncomfortable one.

On this podcast, Tui Fleming [https://tuifleming.com/] explains what she calls “personal leadership”.

Rather than asking how we can become better leaders by adding more skills to the toolkit, Tui asks us to look at something much closer to home. 🤔

Who are you underneath all the roles, expectations, and stories you carry? And how can that discovery help you become a better leader?

  • How to Build Self-Belief in Business? | Ep160
    Aug 11 2026

The biggest obstacle in business isn't always strategy… it's believing you're capable.

When we start a business, it's easy to think success comes from having the perfect website, marketing plan, or business strategy.

But according to Māori business coach Tarra Bishop https://sociatap.com/tarrabishopcoachingandmentoring, the real work starts much deeper.

    It starts with self-belief.

In our recent kōrero, Tarra shared how building confidence in herself completely changed the direction of her life and business. Her journey is a powerful reminder that the business you build is a reflection of the relationship you have with yourself.

For wāhine Māori and Indigenous women in business, this message is especially important.

We often carry big responsibilities, big dreams, and sometimes even bigger doubts. Tarra's story shows that self-belief isn't something you're born with; it's something you build.

  • The Hidden Cost of Keeping Going | Ep 159
    Jun 16 2026

What happens when the strategy that built your success is the very thing that breaks you?

For a long time, I thought I was doing what strong women do.

You keep showing up. You keep delivering. You keep supporting the people around you. You keep the business moving, the family functioning, and the commitments honoured.

And then one day, your body has a different opinion. 😳

Over the past year, some of you may have noticed that the podcast episodes became less frequent. The Momentum Shift newsletter shifted from weekly to fortnightly to monthly. Social media became a little... quiet. Okay, a lot quiet.

    There was a reason.

    May 12 2026

How do you rebound from difficulties in your business? Setbacks, health struggles, financial fiascos. It’s a matter of “when,” not “if” you’ll be thrown some obstacles on your business journey. 🚧

And when that moment arrives, resilience is the difference between success and failure. Cultivating the capability to rebound from difficulties is not just beneficial. It's vital for making your mark.

But it doesn’t make it pleasant or easy.

Petina Tieman [www.completebs.com.au] knows a thing or two about setbacks and the need for resilience in business (and life, for that matter). She’s an incredible Indigenous businesswoman with a remarkable story.

In this episode, we talk about what it takes to thrive on your entrepreneurial adventure. 🎙️ ✨

Ever woke up in the morning and the idea of having to show up for your business fills you with dread? Zero energy, zero inspiration, zero passion. 😩

  • Is Turning a Personal Struggle Into a Business Genius or Crazy? | Ep 156
    Mar 11 2026

Is it actually a good idea to turn your personal challenges into a business opportunity… or is that just a romantic story we tell ourselves? 🤔

It’s a question that comes up regularly in my coaching business.

During my recent kōrero with Miah Faumuina, founder of Dulve, it was the perfect time to address it.

In her mid-20s Miah was dealing with hormone and gut health issues, and when she started reading the ingredient labels on the plant-based milks she was drinking, she realised many of them contained highly processed ingredients that didn’t sit well with her. So she did what many curious, slightly stubborn entrepreneurs do… she started experimenting.

Eventually, that idea became Dulve, a plant-based hemp milk designed to be silky, barista-friendly, and free from oils, gums, and added sugars.

But Miah’s story raises a bigger question for all of us in business: Just because you can turn a personal struggle into a business… should you? ✨

  • Lessons From 25 Years in Business - Moments That Matter | Ep155
    Feb 10 2026

This podcast episode is a bit special. 💛

Granted, it’s just me; no guest. But it’s also special in another way.

Unlike what the title may suggest; it’s not a retrospective “here’s what I learned” piece followed by “and this is what you should do”. Instead, it’s a thinking-out-loud, meaning-making moment while I’m still in the thick of figuring it all out. No frameworks, no lessons, no tidy bows.

Just me, in the middle of the messy-ness that comes with a transition phase. I’m no longer the person I was, but I’m still becoming, still finding my way forward.

And I thought, it’d be very insightful for you to be part of that intense but also powerful moment of transition and reflection.

    SO, …

No How-To today. ✋ No advice. Just listen👂 and notice what stirs something inside you, see what lands.

Here are five key lessons from 25 years in business, moments where something quietly changed. Not overnight. Not dramatically. But enough to reshape everything after.
