Young People from Voices of Tomorrow Interview Sue Hedges on Serious Youth Violence

Young people from our Voices of Tomorrow project recently sat down with Sue Hedges, founder of the Ricky Hayden Memorial, to talk about the devastating loss of her son to serious youth violence.

This was an incredibly sensitive and emotional topic, and although the young people were understandably nervous, they approached the conversation with maturity, empathy, and deep respect. We are incredibly proud of how they handled the interview giving space to Sue’s powerful story and raising awareness of the real impact of knife crime on families and communities.

Their courage in tackling such a challenging issue reflects the heart of what Voices of Tomorrow is all about: giving young people the platform and confidence to engage with the world around them and be part of meaningful change.
