We discussed aspects of the game and how globalisation has made a farce of being too territorial in our support for our own clubs. After extolling the virtues of #Liverpool and #Man City we discussed the #Chelsea debacle and the rise of the #American football owners within the #PremierLeague. We looked at the ownership rules as a new phase of Chelsea ownership is set to take place. Are the Americans planning to take over our football? There was a frantic end to the season in the Bargain Basement where #Leeds stayed at the expense of #Burnley who are now linked with #VincentKompany. Rob gave us an outline of the structure of the Spanish football leagues before turning his attention to #LaLiga in general and #Mallorca in particular. As we reviewed the #Premier final games we looked next to the #ChampionsLeague final in Paris.

We discussed the exciting brand of football which #LIverpool played to reduce the January deficit from 15 points to a mere point by the time the final whistle was blown. This led to the discussion regarding the qualities and skills of the managers #PepeGuardiola and #JurgenKlopp. This developed into aspects of finance and ownership and whether money can buy the trophies. Does the system defeat the genius? Sadly, we needed to discuss the dangerous aspects of the unacceptable pitch invasions before looking at the outcome of next weekend's #ChampionsLeague final
