Joe, my biological Dad, is half of my origin story. So much of my life and who I’ve been up to this point has revolved around his life and decisions. He was incarcerated when I was 9 and for 21 years I held my breath waiting for the new reality when my Daddy got home. Little Bionca’s mantra was “All will be right in my world when my Daddy  gets home.”

That turned out to be true but not at all in the way I dreamed or imagined. But finally, all is right in my world. Unpack with me as I close the book of my origin story, take the pen, and create my own.
