Lee and Adam are back for Episode 265, Season 10 Episode 8, as teachers across the country return for Autumn 2 and the countdown to Christmas begins. Fresh from a mammoth week on the road, the pair look back at their latest Let That Be A Lesson live tour, sharing some behind-the-scenes moments, memorable experiences and a huge thank you to everyone who came along to the shows. The conversation continues with the highs and lows of life on tour, from travelling across the country and staying in hotels to the exhaustion that comes with performing seven shows in seven nights. There's plenty of brotherly banter as Lee and Adam reflect on their adventures, the people they met along the way and a particularly eventful journey home that neither will be forgetting anytime soon. The pair then tackle a listener question about the role of teaching assistants and support staff in schools. Is it fair to describe support staff as the backbone of a school, or does that undervalue the work teachers do? Lee and Adam share their thoughts on the importance of recognising everyone's contribution, the pressures facing school staff and why education shouldn't become a competition over who works hardest or deserves the most appreciation. This week's listener thread is all about the most ridiculous injuries people have suffered doing completely ordinary things. From everyday activities going spectacularly wrong to accidents that seem almost impossible to believe, Lee and Adam work through a collection of painful, unfortunate and occasionally hilarious mishaps that prove even the simplest tasks can be surprisingly dangerous. Adam also brings back the blind ranking challenge, this time with a school leadership twist. Lee is tasked with ranking eight famous British personalities based on who he'd most like to have as his headteacher. With some rather questionable candidates to choose from, the pair imagine what life would be like working under some of the country's biggest names and whether any of them would survive a week running a school. Finally, it's back to the classroom for another brilliant collection of stories from teachers, support staff and parents. From the brutally honest things children say to their teachers to embarrassing mistakes, awkward encounters and those moments when everything goes completely off script, there's no shortage of reminders that working in a school is anything but predictable. As always, Lee and Adam prove that sometimes the funniest moments are the ones nobody could ever have planned. 📬 Want your story or question featured on the pod? Lee and Adam are back for Episode 264, Season 10 Episode 7, with the October half term getting ever closer and the next run of the Let That Be A Lesson live tour just around the corner. After a quick update on the upcoming shows, the pair catch up on what's been happening over the past week, including Adam's birthday celebrations and a memorable trip to London. The conversation turns to birthdays, getting older and how differently we celebrate as adults. Adam reflects on how birthdays change once you've got children of your own, before sharing some highlights from his recent celebrations. Naturally, Lee isn't about to let him get away without a bit of brotherly banter. This week's big listener thread is all about the stingiest people you've ever encountered. Lee and Adam work through a collection of stories about people taking saving money to extraordinary lengths, debating where the line sits between being sensible with your money and being downright tight. There's also a discussion about the value of time, everyday spending habits and whether some people take being frugal just a little too far. With Halloween approaching, Lee and Adam also get into a debate about how much the occasion has changed over the years. From childhood memories to the increasingly elaborate celebrations we see today, the pair discuss whether Halloween has become too commercialised and why some people embrace it while others would happily give the whole thing a miss. Then it's back to school for another collection of unforgettable parents' evening stories and EYFS home visits. Teachers and school staff share the awkward conversations, unexpected encounters, unusual requests and situations that nobody could possibly prepare you for. As always, Lee and Adam are left wondering how some of these things actually happen in real life. Finally, the relationship icks make a welcome return after proving such a popular topic in previous episodes. Adam has another selection of submissions for Lee to judge, as they debate which behaviours are genuine dealbreakers and which are simply harmless quirks. It's another brilliantly ridiculous conversation that proves sometimes the smallest things can give someone the biggest ick. 📬 Want your story or question featured on the pod? • LO: To be prepared for the unexpected when doing home visits
    Oct 13 2026
Lee and Adam are back for Episode 263, Season 10 Episode 6, and this week they have finally made it to a professional space. The pair are recording in the Manchester Podcast Studio courtesy of the team at TeachMate, taking in the proper setup after eight years of podcasting. With the Let That Be A Lesson tour's October run getting ever closer, excitement is also building for the upcoming live show in London on the 26th. The conversation kicks off with a look at Artificial Intelligence in the school community. While Lee and Adam discuss how platforms like TeachMate are helping ease teacher workloads, they have plenty of laughs about the less successful uses of AI. Adam then puts Lee through the blind ranking challenge, attempting to order the absolute worst things a teacher can hear at the end of the school day. The dread of forgotten twilight staff meetings, late child pickups, unexpected requests from SLT, and the terrifying "we've had the call" for an Ofsted inspection all go head-to-head as Lee tries to decide what truly deserves the number one spot. The pair also dive into a hilarious discussion about the most insane and easily disprovable lies people have ever told with complete confidence. From primary school children claiming they invented Facebook or Pokémon, to adults trying to pass off their mates' celebrity encounters as their own, listeners share brilliant stories of people doubling down on the most ridiculous fibs. Finally, it's time for a brilliant collection of EYFS home visit stories from Early Years staff. Lee and Adam work their way through the awkward living room setups, aggressive pets, fully inflated adult dolls, and the completely surreal offer of some homemade breastmilk scones that prove home visits can be one of the most unpredictable parts of the job. 📬 Want your story or question featured on the pod?
