Your Host Jules True Crime is a weekly true crime podcast from Jules Thorp focusing on telling ethical stories while focusing on victims and their voices. Without sensationalizing or exploitation, Jules strives to tell stories with purpose: providing calls to action for listeners to help and get involved, giving links to make a change and donate, including mental health and law enforcement support resources, and providing a key takeaway at the end of each case so we can learn together.

Formerly True Crime & Headlines, Jules takes the reins as a solo host to offer episodes without banter, minimal commentary, and strives to dive right into the case.

Jules was raised by a former law enforcement officer and former lawyer and grew up with a deep passion for justice and questioning if a job was done to the best of its ability with the resources given. She's a former teacher with a passion for learning and helping others.

    Secrets Beyond the Sacramento River

The first episode drops March 30th!
Each new episode will drop the following Monday.

We're seeking the answer to the question, "What happened to Jeff Anderson?"

Jeff Anderson was just 40 years old when his car rolled into the Sacramento River the evening of September 9th, 2023. Despite 911 calls from eye witnesses confirming the entry point of Jeff's car into the river, rescue attempts were not conducted until September 13th- 4 days later.

Upon retrieval, law enforcement removed Jeff's car key from his front pocket of his pants. His car transmission was in "park."

Inconsistencies in stories about Jeff's last hours have raised more questions than answers:

    Was Jeff assaulted?
Was Jeff helped to his car from a bar and taken water?
    Was Jeff roofied?
    Was Jeff in emotional distress?

We have witness statements submitted to law enforcement saying they were told by eye witnesses that there were two cars that evening, not one.

When the car eye witnesses were
followed up by law enforcement, this claim was denied ever being said. Why?

    We'll share dispatch calls.
    We'll share incident reports.
    We'll share toxicology reports.

Was this a horrific accident, or was this case closed without a proper investigation?

Why did the PI hired by the family take years to get the report back to family?

Why was Jeff's car parked only to allegedly roll from a stop across a flat grade road, make a 90 degree turn, and then go into the water?

Why has Jeff's phone had multiple hacking attempts?

Why wasn't Jeff's case looking into as a suspected homicide?

The stories the family were told by law enforcement alone will outrage you.

We'll be covering the witness reports, police reports, autopsy report, interviews, written statements, and our documented attempts to communicate with Sheriff Cooper and the District Attorney.

    March 30th-
Time to ask seek the answers to questions law enforcement should have asked before closing Jeff's case.

Jules will return for weekly episodes! While she works behind the scenes on the new episodes, please meet our friends of the podcast. Today's guest, Jasmine from Black Coffee, Crime, & Crochet podcast.

Daylon Pierce wasn’t your average online dater. He posed as a wealthy stockbroker looking for love… and ended up scamming multiple women out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. In this episode, Jasmine CL Prince unpacks the charming deception, the heartbreak, and the massive financial fraud behind Pierce’s “romance investments.” Plus: iced coffee vibes, a crochet update, and a conversation about why judging scam victims misses the point.

This week on Black Coffee, Crime, and Crochet, we’re sipping Sweet Talker Lattes and stitching our way through the twisted tale of Daylon Pierce, an Arizona-based romance scammer who used dating apps to charm, manipulate, and con multiple women out of hundreds of thousands of dollars. I’m breaking down:
    • How Daylon Pierce built his fake financial empire on lies and love-bombing
    • The women who trusted him and what they lost
    • How he was caught and sentenced

Jules is returning to weekly true crime cases with Your Host Jules True Crime! While she works behind the scenes for the launch, please check out these friends of the podcast with cases which matter.

On an ordinary winter day in January of 2001, a sixty-eight year old woman set off on a hike with three others. Shortly into the trail, she decided she wasn’t up for the hike and turned around to go back to the park’s lodge area while the other’s carried on to the destination. When the others returned, there was no sign of her, and there hasn’t been ever since. Besides her hiking partners, nobody can confirm she was actually in the park that day. The mysterious nature of her disappearance has led to multiple theories, but to this day none of them have produced any answers.
