  • Urban Surrealism, Hidden Scars: Calicho Arévalo’s Truth

    Trauma Behind the Glamor
Featuring Calicho Arévalo: Urban Surrealism & Wildlife Oxymorons
On this episode of Trauma Behind the Glamor, we step inside the world of Calicho Arévalo, an artist and architect whose work transforms the chaos of the city into a living, breathing ecosystem of color, imagination, and emotional truth.

Born in Bogotá and now rooted in New York City, Calicho creates art that blurs the line between the real and the surreal. His signature style, Urban Surrealism, fuses architectural precision with the wild, playful energy of the inner child. Through his concept of the “Wildlife Oxymoron,” he reimagines animals as guardians of the concrete jungle, revealing the contradiction of nature surviving — and thriving — inside the artificial world we build around ourselves.

But behind the vibrant colors, the iconic cityscapes, and the global collaborations with brands like Puma, Foot Locker, and NAMI, there is a deeper story.
    A story of belonging.
    A story of transformation.
A story of searching for home in a world that is constantly shifting.

Calicho’s recurring Portals are more than artistic motifs — they are metaphors for the moments in life when we step through pain, identity, displacement, and reinvention. His journey, like his art, is layered with resilience, imagination, and the emotional truth of someone who has learned to navigate multiple worlds at once.

In this intimate conversation, we explore the man behind the murals, the architect behind the surrealism, and the human behind the glamor. We talk about the experiences that shaped him, the trauma that informed his vision, and the healing that continues to guide his mission — including his commitment to animal rescue and advocacy.

This is Calicho Arévalo beyond the canvas.
This is the story behind the art.
This is Trauma Behind the Glamor.

On this compelling episode of Your Trauma Talks, we turn the spotlight toward the man behind the masterpieces, Celebrity Designer Prashant Goyal, founder of Heritage India Fashions and International Heritage Fashion Week. Known globally for dressing icons, shaping couture on international runways, and preserving Indian heritage through fashion, Prashant steps beyond the spotlight to share the human story behind the success.

In an intimate talk and heartfelt interview guided by Rah MrTraumaTalks, Prashant opens up about the emotional realities of life in fashion, the pressure of visibility, and the unspoken challenges designers and creatives face behind the scenes. He reflects on identity, judgment, resilience, and the silent expectations that come with operating in an industry built on perfection, beauty, and constant performance.

Prashant speaks honestly about navigating trauma within the creative world, the responsibility designers carry toward models and collaborators, and the emotional toll of building a legacy while protecting one’s inner world. • Psychotherapist, Single Mother, Supermodel
    Nov 30 2025

    Send us Fan Mail

In this episode of Trauma Behind the Glamor, we feature a remarkable woman whose journey reflects both triumph and resilience. Originally from Russia, she has lived in the United States for more than twenty years, building a successful career as a licensed psychotherapist with her own private practice. At the age of 40, she made the bold decision to pursue the dreams she once set aside and entered the world of modeling.
Although told at 20 that she was too short to succeed, she later signed with OMAC Modeling and Talent and went on to walk runways in Paris, Milan, London, Dubai, and New York City. Her work has been published in Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. She achieved these milestones while raising four children as a single mother and continuing her full-time career as a psychologist.
Her story is also marked by profound loss. After ten years of silence, she learned that her mother had died by suicide, a devastating moment that shaped her journey and deepened her commitment to living authentically. Through grief and adversity, she has continued to inspire women everywhere with her message that it is never too late to follow your heart.
She admires authenticity in fashion, such as Pamela Anderson’s barefaced runway walk, and supports designers like Tyekia Vegan Designer, whose bold creations promote peace, nonviolence, and compassion. Whether she is in professional attire for her clients, in workout gear for her runs, or in gowns on the runway, she embodies strength, creativity, and courage.
Her life is proof that dreams do not expire. They wait for us to be ready. This is the kind of story we celebrate on Trauma Behind the Glamor: the humanity behind the spotlight and the resilience behind the success.
