À propos de ce contenu audio

Too Honest Podcast is an audio-only, unscheduled stream of consciousness hosted by Tori Applegate — salon owner, property owner, writer, business builder, and someone with a deeply curious brain that refuses to stay in one lane.

This podcast is exactly what it sounds like: honest to the point of probably oversharing.

Each episode is a real-time download of whatever life is currently throwing at me — running and growing a salon, navigating property ownership and investment decisions, selling half my house on Facebook Marketplace, writing a book (finishing it, rewriting it, questioning everything), and spiraling into Reddit rabbit holes that somehow turn into full-blown life reflections. I've been behind the chair as a hair stylist for 15 years now, entertaining, making people laugh and think, sharing weird facts from a book I read, and overall just pondering out loud with people around. It's never just a haircut when you come to see me, it's a whole ass experience. 🫶

There’s no script.

There’s no format.

There’s no promise of a weekly release schedule.

Some episodes are structured. Some are not. Some are short. Some run long because my ADHD decided the conversation wasn’t finished yet.

What is consistent is the honesty.

This podcast exists for people who:

• Think faster than they talk

• Build businesses without pretending they have it all figured out

• Care about creativity, money, independence, and autonomy

• Like conversations that jump from practical to philosophical without warning

• Appreciate nuance, self-awareness, and occasional chaos

You’ll hear stories about:

• Salon ownership and behind-the-scenes business realities

• Property ownership, investments, and “how did I end up doing this?” moments

• Writing a novel, revision hell, and creative discipline

• ADHD tangents that somehow loop back to something useful

• Internet culture, Reddit threads, and things I probably should not have read at 1am

• Decisions, doubts, wins, failures, and the in-between parts people usually edit out

This is not a self-help podcast.

It’s not a business podcast.

It’s not a productivity podcast.

It’s more like the conversation you have with a friend when you’re finally saying the things you didn’t say out loud all week.

If you’re looking for polish, this probably isn’t for you.

If you’re looking for honesty, curiosity, and unfiltered perspective — welcome.

    • Writing a Book Is Not What I Expected
      Jan 11 2026

In this episode I talk about the Airbnb saga, as the drama continues after I have converted it into a long term rental. I tell you about LLMs and almost tell you my opinions on the future of AI but forget and get swept up in a rabbit hole. You’ll learn about the main character of my book and how I so backwards-ly ended up falling ass backwards into writing in and about all the fun cult lore than I CANNOT wait to further dive into as I write more of this series. So fun. 😈

    • I Sold Everything in the House on Facebook Marketplace
      Dec 23 2025

This week I’m talking about a trip to Florida I just came back from, turning a short-term rental into a long-term one, the absolute chaos that is Facebook Marketplace, and finishing the first draft of my book.

No big lesson. Just life logistics, creative momentum, and thinking out loud.
