À propos de ce contenu audio
Dakota Cheyenne is an indigenous woman from the Northern Cheyenne Nation. She is a sixth generation descendant of Chief Dull Knife or Morning Star, who was known for his active resistance against westward expansion. Dakota considers herself a bridge between indigenous people and the colonizer, as her mother is native and her father is white. In this episode, Dakota shares how to be in right relationship with ourself, the land and one another. When speaking about climate change and the global pandemic, Dakota points out, "this time is really highlighting what we need to fix, unearthing the collective shadow of these systems that need to be dismantled and rebuilt in a good way". Throughout this conversation, Dakota describes her ancestral knowledge of native ritual and tradition while shedding light on how to be respectful in an age cultural appropriation and how we can move forward with reverence for our interdependence.
