À propos de ce contenu audio

Therapy, Not Therapy is a podcast by three SisterFriends - EnerJi, Che, and Rochelle. Inspired by their ongoing group chat that serves as a safe place where they can create space for themselves and each other as Black and Brown adults and Creatives trying to make it in this life. So many of us need a place to process and could definitely benefit from engaging in regular therapy sessions with a licensed therapist, but for many reasons that support is not always available to us. This is why the “group chat” has become such an essential and sacred space for many to be our true and authentic selves - for better or for worse - without judgement or negativity. From the #GroupChat to the studio, join EnerJi, Che, and Rochelle every week for some Therapy, Not Therapy. We’re not licensed therapists but we’re here to help discuss, unpack, process and deal with “all the things”... So can we talk about it?? Produced and brought to you on the MPN Podcast Network by Mr. Al Pete and The MPN Network.© 2024 Therapy, Not Therapy Podcast Développement personnel Hygiène et vie saine Psychologie Psychologie et psychiatrie Réussite personnelle Spiritualité

    • Episode 3.6 - “Alexa, Play ‘Don’t Touch My Hair’”
      Jul 12 2021

This week we’re talking about HAIR! Specifically “Black Hair” and the layers and complexities that encompass living with hair that doesn’t fit the imposed Euro-centric, idealistic standards of naturally silky, fine, straightness.

The fact that nearly every Black or Brown person has had to endure some sort of “Hair Journey” in their life is a testament to how interwoven societal pressures and prejudices have been ingrained into our psyches. From hot combs and creamy crack, to embracing our natural hair patterns and grades, and incorporating protective styles so we can (safely) rock our 48 piece wigs - we’re getting to the root of our Crowns and unpacking it all - one bundle at a time.

    • Episode 3.5 - Losing vs Letting Go
      Jul 2 2021

“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” - Wayne Dyer

We’ve all been through times and periods in our lives when it feels like we just have to keep taking one loss, failure, or disappointment after the other. We deal with the loss of jobs, friends, loved ones, situations and sometimes it feels like we can’t catch a break. So when do we decide it’s best to give ourselves a break and let go? How does our perspective turn losses into lessons, from resistance into release? Join us this week where we discuss the narratives around loss, and how losing can lead you to win, if you decide to look at it that way.

    • Episode 3.4 - Oooh, Bitch… Do Your Best!
      Jun 3 2021

Some days all you can do is your best, chile. The Ladies are back (again!) and talking about doing your best no matter what life throws at you. Recognizing that your best can look different day to day or moment to moment - it’s important to be kind to yourself, give yourself grace, and honor the space you’re in while employing the life lessons you’ve learned along the way (and remembering to give yourself a break if you don’t get it right every time).
