In February 1978, five young men from Yuba City, California vanished after attending a college basketball game in Chico. All were either intellectually disabled or had mild psychiatric conditions, and they were known to be close friends.
Their disappearance set off a months-long search across rural Northern California, culminating in the discovery of their remains in the remote Plumas National Forest months later under baffling conditions. Despite extensive investigation, no definitive explanation has ever been found for how or why they ended up nearly 70 miles from home in dangerous mountain terrain. Can the stars getting us any closer to the truth?
