  • Washington Weather 3/6 Morning - Rain Starting 6 AM
    Mar 6 2026
Good morning. Washington. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you'll feel it. That damp, clingy chill at 44 degrees. We picked up about four-hundredths of an inch overnight. And those clouds aren't going anywhere. Rain spreads across the lowlands this afternoon. Not drizzle — actual rain. Puget Sound and South Sound take the heaviest hit, with a quarter to half an inch by tonight. Eastern Washington stays mostly cloudy, with just a chance of light rain after 4 P.M. Highs reach 50 around Seattle and Tacoma, 48 in Spokane. Tonight, rain fades to showers. Lows hold mild in the upper 40s west of the Cascades, dropping to 42 in Spokane. Saturday brings lingering showers, especially near the mountains. The coast and Puget Sound stay cloudy with highs in the mid-50s. Eastern Washington? Much nicer — mostly cloudy skies, near 60 degrees, with just a slight chance of rain. Breezy too, with gusts to 22 miles an hour. Now here's the heads-up for the week ahead. Sunday turns brutal. A strong cold front barrels through with gusts potentially hitting 50 miles an hour along the coast. Rain continues through early next week. And snow levels plummet. The mountains get hammered Monday through Thursday — 12 to 18 inches at the passes. Lowlands could see a rain-snow mix early Monday and Wednesday mornings, though accumulations stay light. Temperatures cool into the mid-40s. If you're heading to the mountains this weekend, conditions deteriorate fast Sunday night. Check pass conditions before you go. Stay dry out there. See you tomorrow. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast See you tomorrow.

    Mar 5 2026
Good afternoon. Washington. I'm Aaron Jolly. We're waking up to 47 degrees and gray skies after a soggy overnight. The clouds are hanging around, but here's the silver lining. You're staying mostly dry today. In the next 24 hours. Puget Sound hits 50 degrees with mostly cloudy skies. There's a slight chance of sprinkles before 4 P.M., but odds are you'll dodge them. Southeast winds stay gentle at 5 miles an hour. Head east over the Cascades and it's a totally different vibe. Eastern Washington gets mostly sunny skies and 52 degrees. Just a slight chance of a passing sprinkle before 4 P.M., then clearing out. West winds around 9 miles an hour. Down in the South Sound, you're looking at partly sunny skies and 52 degrees. A chance of light rain before 4 P.M. West-southwest winds 8 to 13 miles an hour. Tonight, the rain returns statewide. Puget Sound and South Sound both see steady rain after 7 P.M. Lows drop to the low 40s. Eastern Washington stays mostly cloudy with a low near 33 degrees and a slight chance of rain and snow after 4 A.M. Friday brings widespread rain across the west side. Highs near 51 degrees with steady rain throughout the day. Eastern Washington gets a chance of rain and snow with a high near 49 degrees. For the weekend. Rain continues Saturday with highs in the low to mid 50s. Sunday brings heavier rain and a cooler push. Monday's when it gets interesting. Snow levels drop sharply. The mountains see significant snow. And there's a chance for a rain-snow mix in some interior lowlands early Monday morning. Enjoy the dry hours today. Tonight's rain is coming for all of us. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

  • Washington Weather March 5 Morning - Winter Weather Advisory
    Mar 5 2026
Good morning. Washington. I'm Aaron Jolly. That tenth of an inch we got overnight? It left us with 44 degrees and skies the color of wet concrete. The damp chill is settling in like an uninvited guest who brought their own sleeping bag. In the next 24 hours. Puget Sound stays locked under mostly cloudy skies today with rain popping up through the afternoon. You'll hit 50 degrees by midday. But the real story kicks in after 7 tonight — a 90 percent chance of rain as another front rolls through. Lows hold at 44. Down in the South Sound, you catch a break early with partly sunny skies before clouds pile back in. Rain arrives before 4 P.M. Highs reach 52 degrees. Tonight the rain settles in for the long haul. Now head east over the Cascades and it's a completely different world. Eastern Washington sees partly sunny skies with just a slight chance of a midday shower. Highs climb to 52 degrees. But this morning at 7 A.M.? Dress warmly — it feels like 29 degrees with that westerly wind cutting right through your jacket. Tonight drops to 33 with a slight chance of rain mixing with snow toward dawn. Friday keeps the rain going west of the mountains. Highs in the low 50s. Eastern Washington stays drier but cooler at 49. For the weekend. This wet pattern holds through Saturday and Sunday. Then late Sunday everything shifts. A colder system drops snow levels down to pass level by Sunday evening. Monday morning could bring a rain-snow mix even in the lowlands. Highs dip into the upper 40s. The full moon tonight won't have much to shine through with those clouds. But we're gaining over three minutes of daylight now. Spring equinox is just two weeks out. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
