Good evening! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Texas Weather Podcast for Sunday, February 22nd. Folks, if you liked today's 63 degrees, just wait. By Wednesday, parts of Texas will feel like May crashed the party. We're talking a 35 degrees to 35 degree warm up in three days. But tonight? Winter gets one last word. Down along the Gulf Coast, you topped out at 62 degrees around 4 P.M. With a brisk north wind gusting to 20 miles an hour. Tonight drops to 41 by 7 A.M. Tomorrow's a carbon copy. Then Tuesday the wind flips south and everything changes. Wednesday you're flirting with 78 degrees. Thursday? 82. That's beach weather in February. Slide south and you're seeing the real fireworks. South Texas woke up at a crisp 39 around 7 A.M. But climbed to 69 by 4 P.M. Northeast winds stay gusty tonight at 15 miles an hour. Here's the kicker. Wednesday hits 92 degrees. Let that sink in. Ninety two. In February. Your AC is about to get a wake up call. Over in Central Texas, that 37 degree morning by 7 A.M. Gave way to 65 this afternoon by 4 P.M. Tuesday jumps to 75. Wednesday soars to 86. The kind of week where you'll want shorts and a jacket in the same car. Up in North Texas, you had the coldest seat in the house. Low of 35 around 6 A.M. High of just 59 by 3 P.M. But Wednesday pushes 83. That's a nearly 50 degree swing from morning low to midweek high. Now the week ahead tells one big story. Monday and Tuesday ramp up steadily. Wednesday is the peak, running 35 degrees to 35 degrees above normal statewide. A front nudges in late Thursday but barely dents things. No rain anywhere, so fire danger stays elevated with those gusty midweek winds. Quick bright spot. Sunrise hit 7:05 A.M. Today, sunset at 6:25 P.M. Almost two extra minutes of daylight every single day now. I'll be tracking that midweek heat all night. Take care. And that's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good afternoon! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Texas Weather Podcast. It's Sunday, February 22nd. And folks, the wind is picking up a fight today. Step outside right now and you're feeling 48 degrees under blue skies. Sounds pleasant enough. But those northeast gusts hitting 25 miles an hour? They're turning dry brush into a tinderbox. A Red Flag Warning covers South and Central Texas through this afternoon. Humidity's dropping into the teens. Any spark out there could sprint across a field before you finish your coffee. No burns today. No exceptions. Along the Gulf Coast, a Gale Warning has waves running six to ten feet. If you've got a boat, keep it tied up through noon. Now the temperature picture. Down in Laredo and Corpus Christi, you're climbing to 69 degrees by 4 P.M. Feels nice, right? Rewind to 7 A.M. And that wind made it feel like 35 degrees. Classic bait and switch. Over in Central Texas, you'll top out around 63 degrees near 3 P.M. North Texas? Struggling to crack 57 degrees by 4 P.M. Tonight, Dallas dips to 34 degrees. Patchy frost is possible in sheltered spots up there. Here's where it gets interesting. This cold snap has an expiration date. And it's coming fast. Tuesday pushes South Texas to 79 degrees. By Wednesday? South Texas flirts with 92 degrees. That's 34 degrees above normal for late February. Even North Texas hits 82 degrees by Thursday. We're going from jacket weather to air conditioning weather in three days flat. Fire danger rides along for the whole stretch. A weak front slides through late Thursday, barely enough to shave a few degrees off by Friday. One more sunrise note. We're gaining almost two minutes of daylight every day now. Sunrise at 7:05 A.M., sunset at 6:25 P.M. Keep your grills cold today and tie down anything the wind can grab. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care!

Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Texas Weather Podcast. It's Sunday, February 22nd. Grab that coffee, because Texas is pulling a fast one on us today. Right now we're sitting at 46 degrees under clear skies. Sounds simple enough. But drive north to Dallas and you're shivering in the 30s. Head south toward the Valley? Already pushing 70 degrees. That's a 40 degree spread across one state before most folks finish breakfast. Folks, those north winds are the real story. Gusts up to 20 miles an hour are ripping across South Texas by 10 AM. Combined with bone dry air, that's triggering Red Flag Warnings across South and Central Texas. Any spark becomes a problem fast. Skip the burn pile today. Along the Gulf Coast, you're looking at sunny skies and a high near 63 degrees around 4 PM. Winds hold steady at 11 miles an hour. Sounds pleasant, but dangerous rip currents are keeping the surf off limits. Tonight drops to 44 degrees by 4 AM. Down in South Texas, sunshine pushes you to 69 degrees by 4 PM. Tonight clears out and cools to 42 degrees by 4 AM. Monday brings highs near 70 with winds shifting east. Central Texas, you'll hit 63 degrees around 3 PM with lighter winds near 6 miles an hour. Overnight lows dip to 37 degrees by 7 AM Monday. Tomorrow nudges up to 65 degrees. Up in North Texas, highs barely crack the upper 50s this afternoon. Tonight falls to 37 degrees by 4 AM. Monday warms slightly to 60 degrees. Now the week ahead gets wild. By Wednesday, South Texas could touch 92 degrees. February. Ninety two. Central and North Texas climb into the 80s. Then a cold front crashes the party late week, dropping temps back down. Fire danger lingers through midweek, so keep your guard up. One quick thing. If you're enjoying these daily updates, share us with a neighbor. Word of mouth keeps this going. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Take care, Texas!
