Project Iceworm was one of the most dangerous secret missions of the Cold War. In this episode, we uncover the truth about Project Iceworm, the US Army’s plan to build a secret nuclear city called Camp Century deep inside the Greenland ice sheet.

Although Camp Century was officially labeled a "science station," declassified documents reveal that Project Iceworm was actually a covert operation to hide 600 nuclear missiles under the ice. This secret nuclear base was powered by a portable nuclear reactor and housed hundreds of soldiers in a city carved entirely out of ice. But the Camp Century experiment failed when the ice began to crush the tunnels, forcing the military to abandon Project Iceworm and leave radioactive waste buried behind.
