Let’s talk about the thing nobody really prepared us for: menopause.
Welcome to The Great Menopause Pause.
In this episode of The Soul Signal with The Oracle, I’m taking you on a very personal journey through my own experiences with menopause and the questions, surprises, frustrations, revelations, and downright ridiculous moments that can come with it.
Because menopause is not one-size-fits-all.
Some women breeze through it. Some women feel like they have been personally betrayed by their own hormones. Some experience hot flashes that make them wonder if somebody secretly turned the thermostat to “Hell.” Others deal with night sweats, insomnia, mood changes, brain fog, fatigue, changes in their bodies, changes in their sex drive, vaginal dryness, anxiety, irritability, or a sudden inability to remember why they walked into a room.
And then there are the women who experience things nobody warned them about.
That’s part of what I want to explore.
What are we actually going through? What is normal?
I’m not here to diagnose anybody, prescribe anything, or tell you that your experience should look like mine. I’m sharing my story because sometimes hearing another woman say, “Girl, me too!” can make you feel a whole lot less crazy.
And yes, I’m going to talk about men.
Because apparently, while estrogen is disappearing without leaving a forwarding address, some of us start looking at the men in our lives and asking entirely different questions.
Is menopause the universe telling us to pause on relationships, dating, and foolishness?
Or is my estrogen just acting up?
Maybe it’s both.
There is something powerful about reaching this stage of life and realizing that the woman you were in your twenties, thirties, and forties may not be the woman standing in the mirror today.
And maybe she isn't supposed to be.
Menopause can force us to slow down and pay attention to ourselves in ways we may have avoided for decades. We spend so much of our lives taking care of children, partners, parents, jobs, households, careers, communities, and everybody else's emergencies that sometimes our own bodies have to practically set off the fire alarm before we finally stop and listen.
That is where The Great Menopause Pause comes in.
Maybe this season isn't just about what we're losing.
Maybe it's about what we're finally allowed to examine.
Our relationships, boundaries, priorities, sexuality, identity, confidence, health, peace, or our purpose.
And perhaps most importantly, ourselves.
I’ll share pieces of my own journey, the things I've noticed, the things that surprised me, the things that made me laugh, and the things that made me stop and say, “Wait a minute...is THIS menopause?”
We’ll talk about the physical and emotional changes that can accompany this transition, the conversations women sometimes avoid, and why we need to become more comfortable talking openly about what happens to our bodies as we age.
Because getting older isn't a disease.
And menopause isn't the end of being a woman.
If anything, it can be the beginning of becoming much more intentional about which version of womanhood belongs to you now. So, grab your favorite beverage, turn the fan toward yourself, kick off those shoes, and come sit with me for a conversation that is equal parts reflection, reality check, laughter, and “Girl, WHAT is happening to us?”
Because around here, we don't pretend we have all the answers.
We ask better questions.
This is The Soul Signal with The Oracle.
And this episode?
The Great Menopause Pause.
Because sometimes the body says, “Sit down.”
Sometimes the hormones say, “Absolutely not.”
And sometimes the universe just whispers...
“Girl, leave that man alone and go drink some water.” 😂
Let’s talk about it.
