Az áprilisi parlamenti választáson elsöprő győzelmet arató Magyar Péter szívélyes fogadtatásban részesült Brüsszelben. Májusban megállapodott Ursula von der Leyen európai bizottsági elnökkel arról, hogy felszabadítják azt a 16,4 milliárd eurót, amelyet jogállamisági és korrupciós aggályok miatt korábban zároltak.

Magyarország ezután jóváhagyta az Ukrajnával folytatandó uniós csatlakozási tárgyalások klasztereinek megnyitását.

Néhány kérdés azonban továbbra is megoldatlan, köztük a migráció és a szexuális kisebbségek jogai. Beváltotta-e Magyar Péter az ígéretét, hogy visszavezeti Magyarországot az EU szívébe?
