  • How To Check Your Spiritual Foundation Before Life Hits Hard

If your life got hit with a storm tomorrow, would what you built actually hold? We start a brand-new series by digging into the part nobody sees: your spiritual foundation. Joey and Richard use Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 7 about the wise and foolish builders to show why the outside can look solid while the inside is quietly cracking.

We talk about how every person is building something, and why the difference is not the weather, the luck, or the strength of the builder. The storm comes to both houses. What changes everything is the foundation: building on the rock of Christ versus the shifting sand of circumstances, other people, church culture, comfort, or security. We also get painfully honest about performance spirituality, how easy it is to “hear” without actually “build,” and why a good-looking house can still collapse when real pressure arrives.

Then we turn the spotlight inward with practical inspection questions you can use this week. What happens to your faith when God does not answer prayer the way you want? How do you respond to disappointment, confusion, temptation, or delayed timing? Is your relationship with God based on what He gives you or on who He is? We close with three simple actions to start rebuilding now, before the next storm tests what is underneath.

  • Small Daily Habits Can Grow Real Spiritual Change
    Oct 8 2026

Your worst moments don’t create your character, they reveal what’s been shaping it. Joey opens with a travel meltdown from Alaska: delays stacking up, exhaustion setting in, and the final gut-punch, the notification that his luggage didn’t make it. It’s the kind of scenario that used to trigger complaining, anger, and anxiety, but it becomes a perfect window into a bigger question: what does it actually look like to walk in the Spirit when life is inconvenient?

We wrap up our five-part series by zooming out on how sin often sneaks in quietly, how small “little foxes” chew away at our spiritual life, and why concealing sin leads to bondage while confessing leads to freedom. Then we land on Galatians 5 and the hard truth that isn’t popular but is incredibly clarifying: it’s not a both-and. We’re either walking in the Spirit or fulfilling the lust of the flesh, and the direction we choose shows up in patterns, habits, and reactions.

From there we get practical. We talk about building sustainable Christian habits instead of making big spiritual promises we can’t keep, why the real battle is between our ears, and how renewing your mind changes what you do. We also dig into John 15, because fruit of the Spirit isn’t something we force through performance, it’s what grows when we abide in Christ and yield to the Holy Spirit’s quiet work.

If you’re tired of repeating the same cycle, press play, then share this with a friend who needs it. Subscribe, leave a review, and tell us: which voice are you listening to most right now?

  • Why Hiding Sin Makes Life Heavier
    Oct 1 2026

The fastest way to make sin louder isn’t “doing worse” it’s going quiet and going alone. Joey and Richard get brutally practical about what happens after we mess up: we either conceal or we confess, and concealment always feels like fig leaves. It covers, but it never heals.

We walk through Genesis 3 as more than the first sin; it’s the first guilty conscience. Adam and Eve hide from God, hide from each other, then start explaining it away. That same pattern shows up today when we use religious activity as a mask, dodge Christian community because we fear conviction, or seek out people who will tell us “it’s fine.” We talk accountability, why isolation is spiritually dangerous, and why the people who love you most will still tell you the truth.

Then we name the common ways we justify sin: renaming it, comparing ourselves to someone worse, blaming our past or other people, minimizing consequences, and resisting correction. We connect those habits to what David describes in Psalm 32 and Psalm 51: the heaviness of silence, the loss of joy, and that dry, stuck feeling that blocks your calling. We also hold out real hope through 1 John 1:9, because confession isn’t God crushing you, it’s God cleansing you.

If you’ve been carrying something in secret, let this be the nudge to step back into the light. Subscribe, share the episode with a friend who needs it, and leave a review so more people can find honest conversations about real life and real faith.
