  • Puerto Rico Weather 3/6 Morning - Rip Current Statement
    Mar 6 2026
Good morning. Puerto Rico. I'm Aaron Jolly. The wind is the headline today. Step outside and you'll feel it immediately — breezy east winds at 16 to 20 miles an hour, gusting to 32. That's the kind of wind that reminds you to hold onto your hat. And it's not going anywhere this weekend. Metro San Juan hits 81 degrees today. Scattered showers wrap up before noon, then you're clear until tonight. Lows drop to 75, but showers and thunderstorms roll back in after midnight. Could see a half to three-quarters of an inch of rain. Down south in Ponce. Here comes 89 degrees this afternoon. Morning showers clear out fast, leaving you mostly sunny. Tonight stays mild at 73 with just a few isolated showers after 9 P.M. Out west. Mayagüez and Aguadilla reach 86 degrees. Isolated showers this morning give way to scattered thunderstorms this afternoon. Then tonight? Beautiful clearing. Low around 70 with calm skies. The important part. A high rip current risk is in effect for all north and east-facing beaches through Sunday. Life-threatening rip currents are possible. If you're hitting the beach this weekend, stay alert. Watch for beach patrol flags and posted signs. Small craft advisories are also up for choppy to rough seas. Looking ahead, tomorrow brings more showers and possible thunderstorms, especially around San Juan and the west. Sunday continues the same pattern. Highs stay in the low to mid 80s all weekend. Winds ease slightly by midweek, but expect unsettled weather through Tuesday before drier air finally arrives late next week. Especially near the water. See you tomorrow. • Puerto Rico Weather March 5 Midday - Rip Current Statement
    Mar 5 2026
Good afternoon. Puerto Rico. I'm Aaron Jolly. That steady breeze you're feeling? It's out of the east. And it's not going anywhere. In fact, it's about to make things interesting. In the next 24 hours. Metro San Juan sits at 75 degrees right now with rain moving in. Those east winds are gusting to 23 miles an hour, so if you've got anything loose on the patio, now's the time to tie it down. Rain rolls through between 6 P.M. and early morning — expect a quarter to half inch. Friday brings partly sunny skies and a high near 81 degrees, but showers stick around through the day. Head south and you're looking at 73 degrees tonight with just isolated showers. Friday heats up fast — you'll hit 89 degrees under mostly sunny skies before scattered showers pop up after noon. Winds stay gentler here, around 7 to 18 miles an hour. Over in Western Puerto Rico, tonight drops to 69 degrees with scattered showers and breezy conditions. Friday afternoon could see thunderstorms mixed in as you climb to 86 degrees. Saturday through Tuesday keeps the unsettled pattern going — scattered showers with highs ranging from 80 to 89 degrees depending on where you're. By Wednesday, we might catch a break with drier air filtering in. One critical safety note. A High Risk of Rip Currents is in effect through Sunday. Life threatening currents are possible along north and east facing beaches. If you're not a strong swimmer, stay out of the water. Heed those flag warnings. If this forecast helped you plan your day, a quick rating really helps us out. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

  • Puerto Rico Weather March 5 Morning - Rip Current Statement

Good morning. Puerto Rico. I'm Aaron Jolly. Feel that steady breeze rattling your windows? It's not going anywhere today. In the next 24 hours. We woke up to 76 degrees with barely a whisper of rain. But the moisture train is rolling in from the east. And it's about to get interesting. Metro San Juan gets hit first. Showers arrive by late morning. Highs climb to 81 degrees. East winds blow at 17 to 21 miles an hour, gusting to 28. That umbrella you forgot yesterday? You'll need it today. Head south toward Ponce and the heat cranks up. Highs hit 88 degrees. Scattered showers pop by midday. Winds gust to 32 at times — enough to turn your umbrella inside out. Now the west coast. That's where things get serious. From Mayaguez to Rincon, rain becomes likely by mid-afternoon. We're talking 90 percent chance. Highs reach 84 degrees. Some spots could see half to three quarters of an inch. Tonight, the full moon tries to peek through mostly cloudy skies. Lows drop to 75 in San Juan, cooler at 69 out west. Showers stick around. Beach plans? Scratch them. High rip current risk stays in effect through Sunday for north and east-facing beaches. Those currents don't care how strong a swimmer you're. Watch the flags. Tomorrow looks like a carbon copy. Breezy trade wind showers. Highs in the low to upper 80s. This pattern camps out through the weekend. Spring equinox arrives in about two weeks. We're gaining over a minute of daylight each day now — small victories. Charge your phone before heading out. Dead batteries don't help when you're dodging puddles. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
