Episode 3: “We must concentrate not merely on the negative expulsion of war, but on the positive affirmation of peace."
Heidi Cuppari, host of a new podcast featuring global youth social innovators and entrepreneurs who are chasing their dreams and creating solutions for a better world. The third episode features Ruth Ukubay, a freshman at Brown University who grew up in Ethiopia. Heidi, a Brown Alumni, interviews Ruth after a winter internship program at Brown, who is building a survival game within Island17.io, a metaverse problem-solving game to implement youth solutions for a better future. Ruth chose the quote titling this episode by Dr. King and talks about the ongoing war in Ethiopia and how it affects day to day life, family relationships, what she dreamed about when she was 8 years old, how it helped her dream big and set her sights on an Ivy league education, and what her first days and weeks in the US were like. Her experiences gave her wisdom to share advice to global leaders and policy makers in this episode.
