    • TV Break: March 2026 - Reviews of Scrubs, The Pitt, Industry, Shrinking, & A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms + Paramount Skydance Buys WBD
      Mar 2 2026

Welcome to TV Break, where Pop Break’s Podcasts Editor Alex Marcus is joined by editor-in-chief Bill Bodkin, and TV Columnist Josh Sarnecky to talk about the happenings in television.

Here’s the format of the show:

The Best Thing I Saw on TV Last Month – Alex, Bill, & Josh talk about a show/episode/event they liked from the last month including HBO’s Industry and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, HBO Max’s The Pitt, AppleTV’s Shrinking and Disney Plus’s The Muppet Show.

Newsbreak – This month, they are discussing the news Paramount Skydance has purchased Warner Bros. Discovery, after Netflix dropped out of the running following an exclusive reopened negotiation window between David Ellison’s PSky and WBD, despite Netflix having already agreed in principle to purchase the company. They break down how this happened and what it means for the future of television, movies, news, streaming, and the entire entertainment business.

Streaming Wars – Alex, Bill, & Josh each selected their top streamer of the month. Alex and Bill agree on Netflix had the biggest month by getting out of the WBD deal after its shareholders had turned on it, along with the return of Bridgerton, and upcoming events such as One Piece S2, MMA All-Star match ups, and the MLB Opening Day. Meanwhile, Josh stands up for Peacock after they hosted the Super Bowl and another successful Olympics, along with their surprise comedy hit The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins and the streaming debut of Wicked: For Good..

New Series Spotlight – This month Alex, Bill, and Josh celebrate the return of Scrubs! They get into their personal history with the original series before checking in on the reboot to see if it holds up to the original or if its too overburdened from sixteen years of memes and cellphone commercials to stand as its own.

    • Batman By The Numbers Batman Best Burton Era Batman Merchandise RANKED
      Feb 27 2026

There’s arguably no superhero in existence that has been reimagined, redefined, or reinterpreted more than Batman. No matter how many times he’s been rebooted, audiences are always willing to come back to Gotham City’s greatest defender. With so much Bat content out there, there’s plenty to dissect, analyze, and of course, rank! This podcast is dedicated to a surgical evaluation of Batman’s history, with a focus on ranking several topics in the world of Batman, among other classic Bat themes and characters.

Join hosts Daniel Cohen, Pop Break’s former Film Editor, and Kris Ingersoll, co-host of the Media/Lit podcast, as they bring on several guests every month to share their passion for the one and only Dark Knight. From Adam West to Robert Pattinson, no bat stone will be left unturned. Bottom-line: If you’re a Batman fan, this is required listening.

The Eras of Batman continue with a couple movies we’ve discussed on this podcast multiple times, but any reason for us to discuss these two gems again is an opportunity we’re going to take.

      The Tim Burton Era.

The Bat crew get together to discuss all things Batman 1989 and Batman Returns, the era that catapulted Batman into an official pop culture behemoth for years to come.

Joining us on this Burton journey is newcomer to the Batcave, Matt Farley, and making his return, but his first non-Draft episode, Kris’ co-host from Media/Lit, Randy Allain! And yes, Partyman is obviously discussed.

The four go through their thoughts and reflections on both these movies. Plenty of praise, some nitpicks, but a fun discussion, nonetheless. If you love these movies, you’ll love the in-depth discussion on both these films. We also praise why Michael Keaton is such a great Batman!

      BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!

With the Burton Era, we heard the term “Bat Mania” thrown around all the time, and that resulted in plenty of BAT MERCHANDISE. That’s right, we’re ranking the BEST BURTON ERA BATMAN MERCHANDISE. In one of our most unpredictable rankings ever, we cover an eclectic mix of merchandise: Toys. T-shirt. Video Game. Trading Cards. And yes…the cereal.

If you have nostalgia for this era of Batman, this is required listening!
