  • Oklahoma Weather March 5 Morning - Red Flag Warning
    Mar 5 2026
Good morning. Oklahoma. I'm Aaron Jolly. If you're driving right now, slow down. Dense fog has swallowed central and western Oklahoma overnight, cutting visibility to a quarter mile or less. That Dense Fog Advisory stays up until 9 A.M., so give yourself extra time this morning. In the next 24 hours. But fog's just the opening act. Step outside and feel that thick, sticky air — that's fuel. We're starting near 50 degrees, then rocketing up fast. Central Oklahoma hits 70 this afternoon. Southwest Oklahoma reaches 76. Northeast Oklahoma tops out at 71. That's 36 degrees to 36 degrees warmer than normal for early March. All that heat and moisture? It's building something dangerous. Showers and thunderstorms fire up this morning, then reorganize tonight into a severe weather threat. We're talking large hail, damaging winds. And tornadoes. The highest risk arrives after 9 P.M., especially across western and central Oklahoma. Keep your weather radio close and your phone charged. Tonight stays muggy, only dropping to 60 degrees under storm clouds. That full moon rising? It'll be hiding behind the action. Friday brings round two. Highs surge to 78 in central Oklahoma, 82 in the southwest. More severe storms develop Friday afternoon before a cold front finally sweeps through. The weekend gives us a breather. Saturday cools to 60 with clearing skies. Sunday rebounds to 70 with sunshine. Then Tuesday and Wednesday next week, unsettled weather returns with another storm chance. Stay weather aware tonight. Have multiple ways to get warnings. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

  • Oklahoma Weather March 4 Evening - 41° Above Normal
    Mar 5 2026
Good evening. Oklahoma. I'm Aaron Jolly. That light rain tapping on your roof overnight? Just enough to make the pavement slick this morning. We're sitting at 52 degrees under stubborn gray skies — and honestly, that cloud cover is doing us a favor. It's keeping temperatures mild, running about 41 degrees warmer than usual for early March. In the next 24 hours. Here's what's headed our way. Central Oklahoma holds in the 50s today with a chance of rain showers this evening, maybe a rumble of thunder around 8 P.M. The real story develops overnight. Fog rolls in after 3 A.M. and it could be dense in spots. Thursday morning's commute might be slow going. You'll climb to 74 degrees Thursday afternoon with gusty southeast winds. Up in Northeast Oklahoma, you're seeing a similar setup. Showers and thunderstorms are possible tonight with a coin flip's chance, then fog settles in overnight. Tulsa reaches 72 degrees Thursday. Down in Southwest Oklahoma, you're on the warmer side of this system. Showers and storms tonight, then Thursday's high pushes 76 degrees with gusts up to 28 miles an hour. Friday is the day to watch. A strong cold front sweeps through with widespread showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be severe, especially in eastern Oklahoma. Highs surge into the upper 70s and low 80s ahead of the front — nearly 41 degrees above normal — then temperatures crash into the 40s and 50s by Saturday. Sunday looks like the pick of the weekend. Mostly sunny with highs in the upper 60s to near 70. Tonight's full moon won't be visible through the clouds, but we're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. Spring equinox is just two weeks away. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Take care That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

  • Oklahoma Weather March 4 Morning - 42° Above Normal
    Mar 4 2026
Good morning. Oklahoma. I'm Aaron Jolly. We're waking up to some loud weather out there. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is active until 8:15 A.M. For Muskogee. McIntosh. And Wagoner counties. Radar shows a storm packing 60 mile an hour winds and half-dollar size hail, pushing northeast at 45 miles an hour. If you're in that zone, stay inside until this line blows through. In the next 24 hours. Here's what's happening. A cold front is sweeping across the state this morning, kicking up strong to severe storms. Northeast Oklahoma is taking the brunt of it today. You're looking at a likely 90 percent chance of thunderstorms, with rainfall totals up to a half inch possible. Despite the storms, highs climb to 60 degrees under cloudy skies. Central Oklahoma sits at 53 degrees today. You've a coin flip's chance on showers and storms, mainly this morning. It's going to stay gray and overcast, giving the day a moody feel. Down in Southwest Oklahoma, a slight storm chance this morning increases to likely by tonight. Highs top out near 59 degrees. Tonight, that front stalls and lifts back north as a warm front. That triggers a serious temperature swing. Thursday jumps to 72 degrees. Friday? We could hit 82 in southwest Oklahoma — nearly 42 degrees above normal for early March. But that Friday heat also fuels our next round of potentially severe weather, so keep your guard up. The weekend settles down. Saturday cools to around 60 with just a slight rain chance. Sunday brings sunshine back and 70 degrees. Spring is getting close. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight every day now. Tonight's full moon will have to fight through all these cloud cover though. Keep an eye on the sky if you're traveling early. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
