And those gusts are going to stick around all day. But here's the twist. This wind is cranking up the heat for the weekend. In the next 24 hours. We're starting at 46 degrees under clear skies. Barely cooled off overnight — we only dipped to 45. In the Bay Area, you're looking at wall-to-wall sunshine today. High of 67 degrees. But those north winds? They're gusting over 30 miles an hour at times. Think papers flying, trash cans rolling. Tonight stays clear with a low of 52. Down in the Central Valley, same deal. Sunny skies, high near 66. And those same pushy winds. Tonight drops to 45 under mostly clear skies. Now here's where it gets good. Tomorrow the warm-up kicks in. Bay Area climbs to 73. Valley hits 70. Then Saturday? Both regions surge to 78 degrees. That's 42 degrees warmer than normal for early March. Spring preview mode, folks. Here's what today brings. The Bay Area climbs to 66 degrees under sunny skies. Northwest winds gust to 21 miles an hour — brisk but not brutal. Tonight drops to 51 with those winds continuing. Friday brings more sun and 68 degrees. Down in the Central Valley, you're starting cooler. It feels like 37 degrees early this morning. But by afternoon you hit 66. Those northwest winds really crank up though — gusts to 30 miles an hour through the valley. Tonight's low sits at 45. Up at Lake Tahoe, a Lake Wind Advisory is in effect. Winds 15 to 25 miles an hour with gusts to 45. Waves build to 2 to 4 feet. Small boats and paddle boards should stay off the water today. The five-day outlook is straightforward. Northwest winds ramp up to 15 miles an hour this afternoon, gusting to 25. You'll feel it along the coast and through the gaps. Down in the Central Valley. Sacramento hits 68 degrees this afternoon with lighter winds. The Bay Area tops out at 64. Not bad for early March — that's right about where we should be. Tonight brings a treat. Skies go clear.
