  • Northern California Weather March 5 Morning - High Wind Warning
    Mar 5 2026
Good morning. Northern California. I'm Aaron Jolly. Feel that breeze picking up? It's about to get rowdy. A dry system is dragging gusty north winds through the region. And those gusts are going to stick around all day. But here's the twist. This wind is cranking up the heat for the weekend. In the next 24 hours. We're starting at 46 degrees under clear skies. Barely cooled off overnight — we only dipped to 45. In the Bay Area, you're looking at wall-to-wall sunshine today. High of 67 degrees. But those north winds? They're gusting over 30 miles an hour at times. Think papers flying, trash cans rolling. Tonight stays clear with a low of 52. Down in the Central Valley, same deal. Sunny skies, high near 66. And those same pushy winds. Tonight drops to 45 under mostly clear skies. Now here's where it gets good. Tomorrow the warm-up kicks in. Bay Area climbs to 73. Valley hits 70. Then Saturday? Both regions surge to 78 degrees. That's 42 degrees warmer than normal for early March. Spring preview mode, folks. Sunday stays toasty in the mid-70s before we ease back to the upper 60s Monday and Tuesday. One heads-up for travelers. Wind advisories are up for the mountains and desert through this evening. Gusts could top 50 miles an hour in exposed areas. Take it slow if you're heading that way. Full moon rises tonight. With these clear skies, it'll be a beauty. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. And the spring equinox is just two weeks out. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

  • Northern California Weather March 5 Evening - 42° Above Normal
    Mar 5 2026
Good evening. Northern California. I'm Aaron Jolly. Fifty-seven degrees under clear skies. And that overnight low barely budged. That's the kind of mild night that tells you something's different. A dry cold front swept through yesterday. And now high pressure is building in behind it. In the next 24 hours. Here's what today brings. The Bay Area climbs to 66 degrees under sunny skies. Northwest winds gust to 21 miles an hour — brisk but not brutal. Tonight drops to 51 with those winds continuing. Friday brings more sun and 68 degrees. Down in the Central Valley, you're starting cooler. It feels like 37 degrees early this morning. But by afternoon you hit 66. Those northwest winds really crank up though — gusts to 30 miles an hour through the valley. Tonight's low sits at 45. Up at Lake Tahoe, a Lake Wind Advisory is in effect. Winds 15 to 25 miles an hour with gusts to 45. Waves build to 2 to 4 feet. Small boats and paddle boards should stay off the water today. The five-day outlook is straightforward. High pressure dominates. Temperatures climb into the low 70s by Saturday and Sunday across both regions. That's about 42 degrees to 42 degrees above normal for early March. No rain in sight. Tonight brings a full moon — the last full moon of winter. Sunrise was at 6:33 this morning. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. Spring equinox is just two weeks away. And this forecast certainly feels like it's already arrived. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

  • Northern California Weather March 4 Morning - 41° Above Normal
    Mar 4 2026
Good morning. Northern California. I'm Aaron Jolly. See that gray ceiling overhead? It's already packing its bags. A cold front is sweeping through right now, but here's the surprise. It's bringing almost no rain. Maybe a few drops on your windshield this morning, but that's it. The real story today is what follows. In the next 24 hours. Temperatures sit at 50 degrees under overcast skies. But watch what happens next. That front clears by late morning. And the winds take over. Northwest winds ramp up to 15 miles an hour this afternoon, gusting to 25. You'll feel it along the coast and through the gaps. Down in the Central Valley. Sacramento hits 68 degrees this afternoon with lighter winds. The Bay Area tops out at 64. Not bad for early March — that's right about where we should be. Tonight brings a treat. Skies go clear. And the full moon rises over a quiet landscape. Lows drop to 48 in the Bay Area, 44 in the Valley. That crisp, dry air will feel refreshing after today's gusty finish. Thursday looks similar — sunny, 65 degrees, but those north winds keep howling. Gusts could hit 31 miles an hour in the Valley. Here's where it gets interesting. An offshore wind pattern sets up this weekend. That means warmth. Saturday hits 72 in the Bay Area, 74 in the Valley. Sunday? 73 and 75 respectively. We're talking 41 degrees to 41 degrees above normal for early March. Spring is knocking early. We're gaining nearly two and a half minutes of daylight each day now. Sunrise at 6:35, sunset at 6:03. The spring equinox sits just two weeks away. But this weekend, it will feel like it's already here. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
