    Good evening. Nevada. I'm Aaron Jolly. Sixty-eight degrees in the south right now. Feels more like May than March, doesn't it? But here's the reality check: drive a few hours north and you're hitting the brakes in a winter wonderland. In the next 24 hours. Northern Nevada is sitting at a brisk 27 degrees this morning. Eastern Nevada is even colder at 26 degrees. And that moisture moving in tonight means scattered rain and snow showers. If you're traveling toward Northern Elko County or the Ruby Mountains, you'll want to rethink your timeline. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 7 P.M. Thursday. We're talking about up to 11 inches of snow in the higher elevations, with winds gusting to 50 miles an hour. That's serious mountain weather. Down south, the wind is the main event. A Wind Advisory kicks in at 1 A.M. Thursday and runs straight through to 10 P.M. Gusts could hit 50 miles an hour, creating patchy blowing dust between 8 A.M. and 3 P.M. Tomorrow. It might be a good idea to secure those loose patio items tonight. Tonight also brings a full moon. With mostly clear skies statewide, it should be a beautiful sight. Looking ahead, a major warming trend builds Friday through Monday. Southern Nevada could hit 79 degrees by Monday—that's about 22 degrees above normal. The north climbs into the 60s and low 70s.     Good morning. Nevada. I'm Aaron Jolly. Nevada is having three completely different days today. Down south, you're basking in summer-like warmth. Up north, winds are howling. And out east. Snow is on the way. In the next 24 hours. Currently, we're sitting at 48 degrees under clear skies. That's our starting point, but where you live determines where this day goes. Let's start in Southern Nevada. Las Vegas climbs to 77 degrees this afternoon. That's about 20 degrees warmer than usual for early March. Sunny skies all day with south winds gusting to 21 miles an hour. Tonight drops to 52. Head north and the story shifts. Northern Nevada sees a high of 57 degrees under mostly sunny skies. But here's the headline. West winds gusting to 45 miles an hour. That's strong enough to make driving tricky for high-profile vehicles. Tonight, temperatures crash to 26 degrees. Eastern Nevada? A whole different world. Rain showers start after 10 A.M. Then as colder air arrives tonight, that rain switches to snow. Scattered snow showers continue through Thursday morning. The Ruby Mountains could see up to 11 inches. Tonight's low drops to 27. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Northern Elko County and the Ruby Mountains from 4 P.M. Today through Thursday evening. Travel could be difficult. A Wind Advisory covers Mineral and Southern Lyon Counties from 1 P.M. To 10 P.M. Today. Gusts could hit 55 miles an hour. And if you're heading to Lake Tahoe. A Lake Wind Advisory is in effect all day. Waves of 2 to 4 feet with gusts to 45 miles an hour. Tomorrow. Southern Nevada cools to 67 degrees but stays sunny and windy. Northern Nevada drops to 49 degrees. Eastern Nevada struggles to reach 42 with lingering snow showers. Looking ahead, the weekend brings a warming trend. By Sunday. Southern Nevada hits 80 degrees. Northern Nevada climbs back into the 60s. Dry conditions return statewide. And it's giving us a spring preview that feels almost too good to be true. Soak up every minute. Because a storm is already sharpening its teeth to the west. In the next 24 hours. Right now. Las Vegas is the star. Sunny skies, a high of 76 degrees. And tonight stays mostly clear with a low around 51. Tomorrow pushes even warmer. 79 degrees. That's patio weather, folks. Drive north to Reno and you're still looking at a gorgeous day. 63 degrees under blue skies. But tonight drops to 35 degrees. And tomorrow the script flips. A cold front slides in bringing rain after 10 A.M. West winds gust to 40 miles an hour by afternoon. That calm morning coffee on the porch? Enjoy it while the air is still. Now over to Elko. Today hits 56 degrees. Tonight dips to 29. Tomorrow afternoon, rain showers develop after 3 P.M. Then the real kicker. That rain turns to snow overnight. A Winter Weather Advisory kicks in Wednesday at 4 P.M. For the Ruby Mountains and Northern Elko County. We're talking up to 11 inches in the higher elevations. If you're planning travel through those passes Wednesday night or Thursday morning, give yourself extra time and extra patience. For your week ahead. Wednesday and Thursday belong to the storm. Rain in the valleys, heavy mountain snow, gusty winds. Then Friday the high pressure muscles back in. Temperatures climb through the weekend. By Sunday, southern Nevada flirts with the upper 70s again and the north settles into the upper 60s. One more thing worth noticing tonight. A full moon rises right at sunset.
