It’s Giving Paganism: “I PLEAD THE BLOOD” | The Myrrhologist Podcast

When did trusting in the blood of Jesus become a ritual of verbally applying it to everything we touch?

For generations, Christians have pleaded the blood over their homes, children, vehicles, businesses, and even church buildings. We anoint doorposts, windows, and furniture with oil, believing these practices invite protection, favor, and spiritual authority.

But where did Jesus instruct us to do any of this?

In this provocative episode of The Myrrhologist Podcast, Marissa Saint Luc examines the origins of familiar Christian practices and asks a question that might make the modern church uncomfortable:

Have we confused the finished work of Jesus Christ with religious rituals that appeal to our senses?

Through Scripture, personal testimony, and an examination of biblical atonement, we explore the difference between trusting in Christ's blood and treating it like a spiritual formula.

From anointing oil and supernatural favor to the subtle ways religious traditions begin to resemble the very practices Scripture warns against, this episode challenges believers to reconsider what they've inherited.

The blood of Jesus is not an incantation. His sacrifice is not something we must repeatedly activate.

And perhaps the greatest deception is convincing believers they must keep performing what Jesus already finished.

Stay in the Word. Keep your eyes on Jesus. And remember, inherited teaching isn't necessarily biblical teaching.

This is a harvest of the Word.

Every time you returned to Scripture, let it confront your motives, interrupt your traditions, and correct the understanding you once defended—you were tending the soil.

And while it looked like nothing was happening, roots were growing.

Grace is not permission to leave the weeds and thorns in charge. Let the Lord reveal what needs to be uprooted so that what He planted can bear fruit.

People may have planted. People may have watered. But God gives the increase—and no person gets to claim what belongs to Him.

When the harvest comes, share it with those who are hungry. Let what God has grown in you become nourishment for someone else.

Three Men. Three Spirits. One Warning.

Cain. Balaam. Korah. Why does Jude bring these three men into one warning?

One allowed jealousy to become hatred. One pursued spiritual gain at the expense of obedience. One challenged God’s appointed leadership while claiming righteousness.

In this episode of The Myrrhologist Podcast, we examine Jude 1:11 and explore a thematic connection to the unclean spirits in Revelation 16:13–14. These passages challenge us to look beyond appearances and examine the desires that make room for deception.

Where has jealousy shaped our judgment? Where have we confused profit with God’s approval? And where have we called our own rebellion righteousness?

Open your Bible with me. This warning calls us to examine our own hearts, too.

WANT TO BE LEFT BEHIND | GET INTO THE ARK

What if everything you were taught about being “left behind” needs to be examined again?

For decades, Christians have been taught to fear being left behind. Through rapture movies, prophecy conferences, and popular end-times teachings, an entire generation grew up believing that being taken meant salvation and being left meant judgment.

But is that what Jesus actually taught?

In this episode of The Myrrhologist Podcast, we're going back to Scripture to examine one of the most misunderstood passages surrounding the return of Christ.

When Jesus said, “One will be taken and the other left,” He immediately connected His teaching to the days of Noah. But who was taken in the flood? And who remained?

We're examining Matthew 24, Luke 17, Genesis 7, and Paul's teaching about being caught up to meet the Lord. We'll explore the biblical context, the language, and the assumptions that have shaped modern rapture theology.

What if we've been so focused on escaping the earth that we've overlooked what Jesus was actually saying?

This isn't about creating another end-times theory. It's about allowing Scripture to interpret Scripture, questioning traditions we've inherited, and returning our attention to Jesus Christ.

The door of the ark was shut by God Himself.

The question is whether we've understood what that means.

Get into the Ark. Keep your eyes on Jesus.

Welcome to The Myrrhologist Podcast, where we're removing man-made traditions, examining what we've been taught, and making the crooked paths straight.

    📖 Scriptures: Matthew 24:37–41 | Luke 17:26–37 | Genesis 7 | 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17

    Sons of Sceva
Acts 19, Spiritual Authority, and the Question “Who Are You?”

What happens when someone invokes the name of Jesus without knowing the One whose name they are using?

In this episode of The Myrrhologist Podcast, Marissa Saint Luc examines the account of the sons of Sceva in Acts 19 and the confronting question: “Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?”

Together, we explore what this encounter reveals about spiritual authority, borrowed language, and the danger of treating the name of Jesus as a formula. We also examine why a spiritual reaction, by itself, does not establish that someone has been delivered.

As the account unfolds, our attention turns to the response in Ephesus: the name of Jesus is magnified, people confess their practices, and costly books of magic are publicly burned. What does that response reveal about repentance and the transforming power of the gospel?

This episode invites us to examine what we practice, whose authority we claim, and whether our lives reflect the Jesus we proclaim.

    Topics Covered:

    • Acts 19 and the seven sons of Sceva
    • “Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?”
    • The name of Jesus and spiritual authority
    • Borrowed language and religious formulas
    • Spiritual reactions and claims of deliverance
    • Confession, repentance, and the burning of magic books
    • The Word of God growing and prevailing

What Spirits Are We Testing? | Biblical Discernment & Deliverance Teachings

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God.” — 1 John 4:1

Does every struggle have a spirit behind it? Does prophetic accuracy prove that someone is speaking for God? And what happens when spiritual speculation is taught as biblical truth?

In this episode of The Myrrhologist, Marissa Saint Luc examines what Scripture means by “test the spirits,” why every “spirit of” phrase does not automatically identify a demon, and how to weigh spiritual claims by their testimony concerning Jesus Christ.

Drawing from Scripture and personal experience, Marissa also addresses the burden placed on suffering people when illness is attributed to hidden spirits, unforgiveness, or unresolved generational issues.

    This episode explores:

    • Why correct information alone does not establish a godly source.
    • The difference between evil spirits, human disposition, and the works of the flesh.
    • The harm of presenting invented spiritual diagnoses as revelation.
    • The spirit of truth, the spirit of error, and the warning about another Jesus and another gospel.
    • Why humility, accountability, obedience, and knowing the Shepherd’s voice matter.

Upcoming episodes will examine the New Apostolic Reformation, the Seven Mountain Mandate, territorial-spirit teachings, and spiritual mapping in light of Scripture.

The Con Trap Family: When Nostalgia Blinds Discernment

Some ministries feel familiar because we grew up with their songs, voices, and teachings. But familiarity can make it harder to ask necessary questions.

In this episode of The Myrrhologist Podcast, we examine how nostalgia and loyalty can shape what we believe. What fruit is a ministry producing? Do its leaders meet the biblical standards for ministry? Does its teaching hold up when we open Scripture?

This conversation is an invitation to examine what you’ve inherited with humility and courage. Open your Bible. Examine the fruit. Test the teaching—and keep your eyes on Jesus.
