On this episode of the Municipal Voice we are returning to the Connecticut Citizens’ Assembly on Property Taxes, as they convene for their second in-person weekend. The Assembly has decided how to govern itself, and this weekend they are focused on learning from experts about the issues surrounding the property tax in Connecticut. We are sharing one of many seminars that took place that day, a panel discussion on education funding, featuring New Haven teachers union President Leslie Blatteau, New Canaan Public Schools Supt. Bryan Luizzi, Norwalk Public Schools Chief Financial Officer Lunda Asmani, and Yale School of Medicine professor and Child W ellbeing and Education Research director Michael Strambler.

The Connecticut Citizens' Assembly kicked off on Saturday July 11, 2026 at Yale University. A Citizens' Assembly is a group of residents selected through a civic lottery process to reflect the diversity of a community. In this episode of the Municipal Voice we share a presentation from the event given by Joe DeLong on the property tac in CT.
