  • Missouri Weather March 5 Morning - Flash Flood Warning
    Mar 5 2026
Good morning. Missouri. I'm Aaron Jolly. If you woke up to the sound of rain hammering your roof. You weren't dreaming. Six-tenths of an inch fell across most of the state overnight. But down in the southeast? Perry. Bollinger. And Cape Girardeau counties got absolutely soaked — two to four inches. A Flash Flood Warning stays active there until 8 A.M. Madison County's under a Flood Warning too. If you see water over the road, turn around. Don't test it. In the next 24 hours. The other big story this morning? Fog. Dense Fog Advisory covers most of Missouri until 7 A.M. Visibility drops to a quarter mile in spots. Take it slow out there. Here's how today unfolds. Rain clears eastern Missouri by mid-morning, leaving clouds and patchy fog behind. Western Missouri sees fog lift by 10 A.M. Then temperatures climb into the mid-60s to near 70. About 38 degrees warmer than usual for early March. Eastern Missouri could push 70 if clouds break. Southwest Missouri hits 69 with a few isolated showers possible. Tonight, the atmosphere reloads. Thunderstorms fire up across western Missouri after 9 P.M. Some could pack gusty winds and small hail. Lows only drop to 57 degrees. Friday's the main event. Highs surge into the mid-70s to near 80 in eastern Missouri — approaching record territory. But warmth comes with consequences. A cold front barrels through Friday evening with a line of strong to severe thunderstorms. Damaging winds, large hail, even tornadoes are possible. Peak severe weather window runs late Friday afternoon through overnight. The weekend calms down behind the front. Saturday cools to the mid-50s to near 60. Sunday rebounds into the mid-60s with sunshine. Monday could hit upper 70s again before another storm system rolls in Tuesday. Stay weather aware Friday. • Missouri Weather March 4 Evening - 38° Above Normal
    Mar 5 2026
Good evening. Missouri. I'm Aaron Jolly. That damp chill in the air isn't just your imagination. We've already picked up nearly two-tenths of an inch of rain. And more is on the way. You're looking at 52 degrees under heavy gray skies right now, but the real story is down south. In the next 24 hours. We've got a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for the Ozarks until 9 P.M. Tonight. That covers Branson. West Plains. And points south and east. If you're down in Southwest Missouri, keep one eye on the sky. Showers and thunderstorms rumble on through the overnight hours. Rain chances peak around 11 P.M. With locally heavy downpours — you could see up to half an inch in spots. You'll bottom out around 50 degrees with some patchy fog rolling in late. Eastern Missouri, you're in for a long night. Storms linger even longer here, with precipitation continuing straight through from 8 P.M. Until the early morning. The heaviest action hits around 2 A.M. Lows dip to near 55 degrees. And yes, that fog will be thick after midnight. Out west, things settle down a bit sooner. Just a slight chance of storms between 8 and 11 P.M., then patchy fog takes over as the rain fades. You'll be cooler, too, dropping to around 45 degrees. Thursday brings a serious break. Morning fog burns off by mid-morning, then partly sunny skies take over. And it gets warm — highs climb to 66 out west, 68 in the east. And a balmy 70 down in the southwest. That's running 38 degrees to 38 degrees above normal for early March, folks. But Friday brings our next round of strong to severe storms. Highs surge into the upper 70s ahead of a cold front. And Eastern Missouri might even flirt with 80. Storms arrive Friday evening with all hazards possible — large hail, damaging winds. And even tornadoes. The weekend calms down with sunshine and highs in the 60s, before another system pushes in Tuesday. Charge those phones tonight and keep the weather radio handy. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

  • Missouri Weather March 4 Morning - Thunderstorms Starting 6 AM
    Mar 4 2026
Good morning. Missouri. I'm Aaron Jolly. That light rain you heard overnight? Just a teaser. We picked up eight-hundredths of an inch. And now the atmosphere is loading up for a much wetter day. Temperatures held remarkably mild overnight — only dropped to 47 degrees under those thick clouds. In the next 24 hours. Here's the story today. Western Missouri sits on the quieter edge of this system. Expect drizzle and patchy fog through the day with a high near 53 degrees. Nothing dramatic, just a gray, damp kind of day. Head east toward St. Louis and things get interesting. Thunderstorms are likely — a 90 percent chance, peaking around 2 P.M. Highs climb to 62 degrees with that soupy southeast flow. Down in Southwest Missouri? That's where the heavy action sets up. Showers and thunderstorms are a certainty today, with one to two inches of rain possible. Highs reach 65 degrees before slowly sliding backward this afternoon. Tonight, storms continue across eastern and southern Missouri. Lows stay mild — mid-40s to low 50s. And here's something to step outside for: it's a full moon tonight. Whether you'll see it through the clouds is another question. Thursday brings a brief break and a real warm-up. Highs surge into the upper 60s to low 70s statewide. But Friday. Friday is the day to watch. A powerful cold front sweeps through with severe thunderstorms possible. Large hail, damaging winds. And even tornadoes are on the table. Highs Friday hit the mid-70s ahead of that front, then temperatures crash into the 50s for the weekend. We're gaining nearly two and a half minutes of daylight each day now. Spring equinox sits just two weeks away. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
