Good morning. Missouri. I'm Aaron Jolly. If you woke up to the sound of rain hammering your roof. You weren't dreaming. Six-tenths of an inch fell across most of the state overnight. But down in the southeast? Perry. Bollinger. And Cape Girardeau counties got absolutely soaked — two to four inches. A Flash Flood Warning stays active there until 8 A.M. Madison County's under a Flood Warning too. If you see water over the road, turn around. Don't test it. In the next 24 hours. The other big story this morning? Fog. Dense Fog Advisory covers most of Missouri until 7 A.M. Visibility drops to a quarter mile in spots. Take it slow out there. Here's how today unfolds. Rain clears eastern Missouri by mid-morning, leaving clouds and patchy fog behind. Western Missouri sees fog lift by 10 A.M. Then temperatures climb into the mid-60s to near 70. About 38 degrees warmer than usual for early March. Eastern Missouri could push 70 if clouds break. Southwest Missouri hits 69 with a few isolated showers possible. Tonight, the atmosphere reloads. Thunderstorms fire up across western Missouri after 9 P.M. Some could pack gusty winds and small hail. Lows only drop to 57 degrees. Friday's the main event. Highs surge into the mid-70s to near 80 in eastern Missouri — approaching record territory. But warmth comes with consequences. A cold front barrels through Friday evening with a line of strong to severe thunderstorms. Damaging winds, large hail, even tornadoes are possible. Peak severe weather window runs late Friday afternoon through overnight. The weekend calms down behind the front. Saturday cools to the mid-50s to near 60. Sunday rebounds into the mid-60s with sunshine. Monday could hit upper 70s again before another storm system rolls in Tuesday. Stay weather aware Friday.
