  • Mississippi Weather March 5 Morning - Cloudy
    Mar 5 2026
Good morning. Mississippi. I'm Aaron Jolly. Feels like someone hit fast-forward on spring. Step outside right now and you're greeted by 67 degrees under gray skies. That's 56 degrees warmer than normal for early March. In the next 24 hours. Central Mississippi climbs to 82 degrees this afternoon. Partly sunny with a gentle south breeze. Tonight stays mild at 64. Down along the Gulf Coast, patchy fog lingers until 8 A.M. Once that burns off, partly sunny skies take over. Highs reach 74 with a comfortable southeast wind. Northern Mississippi sees partly sunny conditions too. Highs near 80 degrees. Tonight drops to 61 under partly cloudy skies. Friday keeps the warmth rolling with low 80s. A few storms could pop by afternoon. But Saturday? That's when the atmosphere gets rowdy. A front slides through with widespread showers and thunderstorms. Northern Mississippi will likely see storms. Central areas have a good chance too. The Gulf Coast sees a slight chance. We could pick up one to three inches of much-needed rainfall. There's even a marginal risk for severe weather — mainly damaging wind gusts. Sunday stays soggy with more storms. Things calm down a bit Monday into Tuesday, but another system approaches by midweek. Tonight's full moon rises at sunset. We're gaining nearly two minutes of daylight each day now. Spring equinox is just two weeks away. Today's the day to get outside and The weekend brings rain. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

  • Mississippi Weather March 4 Evening - 59° Above Normal
    Mar 5 2026
Good evening. Mississippi. I'm Aaron Jolly. Seventy-eight degrees right now. That's not a typo. We're running a solid 59 degrees to 59 degrees above normal for early March. The spring equinox is still two weeks away, but nobody told the thermometer. In the next 24 hours. Tonight brings a full moon. If you're near the Gulf Coast, keep an eye out for widespread fog developing between 8 P.M. and 2 A.M. Lows dip to 63 degrees along the coast and 61 to 62 degrees elsewhere. A slight chance of an isolated shower pops up north between 11 P.M. and midnight, but most spots stay dry. Thursday keeps the warm theme going. Central Mississippi tops out at 82 degrees. Northern Mississippi hits 80. The Gulf Coast stays cooler at 74, thanks to that persistent onshore flow and morning fog that should burn off by 8 A.M. Enjoy the quiet. Because a pattern shift arrives Friday. Showers and thunderstorms become likely by Saturday, especially north and west of the Natchez Trace. Some storms could be strong to severe by early next week. We're watching a frontal boundary that stalls out and keeps rain chances elevated through at least Tuesday. The bottom line? The next two days are your window for outdoor plans. Highs in the low 80s, mainly dry. And nearly 12 hours of daylight now. Sunset tonight is 6:01 P.M. We're gaining about two minutes of daylight each day. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

  • Mississippi Weather March 4 Morning - 57° Above Normal
    Mar 4 2026
Good morning. Mississippi. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you might think someone fast-forwarded the calendar past April. We're sitting at 67 degrees under gray skies right now. And that overnight low of 66 degrees? That would be a comfortable afternoon in most early Marches. We're running about 57 degrees to 57 degrees above normal for this time of year. In the next 24 hours. Central Mississippi climbs to 81 degrees this afternoon — partly sunny with a gentle south breeze. Northern Mississippi hits 80 under similar conditions. But down along the Gulf Coast, the water keeps things cooler. Gulfport and Biloxi top out around 69 degrees with mostly sunny skies breaking through. Tonight, mostly cloudy statewide with lows from 61 to 63 degrees. If clouds part, you'll catch the full moon rising. Thursday keeps the warm train rolling. Highs reach 83 in central areas and 82 up north. The Gulf Coast warms to 72. We stay unseasonably warm right through Friday, when storm chances return. Saturday looks wet — showers and thunderstorms likely across the state, especially in northern Mississippi where rain chances hit 90 percent. The active pattern continues into early next week. Two weeks from Thursday marks the spring equinox. The weather clearly didn't want to wait. Today's high of 81, tonight's low near 62. And tomorrow climbs to 83. Enjoy the early taste of spring. Because rain moves in this weekend. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
