  • Maryland Weather March 5 Morning - 42° Above Normal
    Mar 5 2026
Good morning. Maryland. I'm Aaron Jolly. If you're driving right now, slow down. A Dense Fog Advisory blankets central Maryland until 10 A.M., cutting visibility to a quarter mile or less. That morning commute? It's a crawl through soup. In the next 24 hours. The fog burns off by late morning as temperatures push into the 50s. Baltimore Metro hits 56 degrees. Central Maryland reaches 55. Western Maryland climbs to 60 — the warmest spot in the state. Drizzle and scattered showers tag along through the morning, nothing heavy, just enough to keep the wipers busy. Tonight, the fog comes back. And brings reinforcements. Showers and thunderstorms roll through between 7 P.M. and midnight. Western Maryland could pick up half an inch or more. Lows settle at 44 in Baltimore, 42 in Central Maryland. And 46 out west. Friday stays gray with patchy morning fog and highs in the low 50s. Pretty forgettable. But buckle up, because the weekend flips the script. Saturday jumps to the mid-60s. Sunday and Monday push into the upper 60s with sunshine breaking through. By Tuesday and Wednesday, we're talking low to mid-70s. That's 42 degrees to 42 degrees above normal for early March. Your tulips are going to get ideas. Spring is knocking hard. The equinox is just two weeks out. And we're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day. Tonight's full moon will be glowing through all that fog and mist — if you can see it. If this warmup has you thinking about outdoor plans, now's the time to start plotting. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

  • Maryland Weather March 4 Evening - 42° Above Normal
    Mar 5 2026
Good evening. Maryland. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you'll feel it right away. That damp, heavy air clinging to your coat like a wet blanket. We picked up two-tenths of an inch of rain overnight. And the atmosphere is still completely saturated. Fog is the real headline today, especially as we settle into the overnight hours. In the next 24 hours. Here's the situation. A stalled front is draped right across the region, creating this gray, murky setup. Baltimore Metro is sitting at a raw 43 degrees right now. And that number holds steady through the night. You'll see drizzle develop after 8 P.M. and it lingers into your Thursday morning. Central Maryland is nearly identical — 42 degrees with patchy fog and that annoying drizzle overnight. Head west toward the mountains and it's a wetter story. Western Maryland sees rain developing by evening, with a coin flip's chance on rain continuing overnight. Temperatures there also hover right around 43 degrees. Thursday brings more of that same murky feel. Baltimore climbs to 56 degrees. Central Maryland reaches 55. But out west, you'll notice the difference — Western Maryland surges to 61 degrees as warmer air starts nudging north. The story shifts dramatically by the weekend. That stalled front finally lifts. And warm air floods in from the south. We're talking 42 degrees to 42 degrees above normal for early March. Saturday could see highs near 70 in Baltimore and pushing toward 80 out west. The trade-off? Scattered showers and maybe a rumble of thunder Saturday afternoon. Sunday and Monday stay mild with highs in the mid 60s to near 70. A few showers linger, but nothing widespread. Tonight's full moon won't put on much of a show through all this soup. But hang in there. This weekend will feel like an early taste of spring. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

  • Maryland Weather March 4 Midday - 42° Above Normal
    Mar 4 2026
Good afternoon. Maryland. I'm Aaron Jolly. That steady drumming on your windows? It's not going anywhere just yet. We picked up about two-tenths of an inch of rain overnight. Step outside and you'll feel 47 degrees with that damp, misty chill that soaks right through a light jacket. A stalled front is draped right across the state. And it's messing with our afternoon. Baltimore Metro tops out near 51 degrees. You might catch a brief shower around 2 P.M. Down in Central Maryland, you're looking at 49 degrees with rain most likely between 2 and 4 P.M. Head west toward the mountains and you'll find similar readings near 50 degrees. In the next 24 hours. Tonight, fog becomes the main character. With all this moisture trapped near the ground and light winds, expect areas of fog to develop. Lows dip to around 43 degrees. If the mist lifts, you might catch a glimpse of the full moon. Thursday brings a modest warm-up. Baltimore reaches 56 degrees. Central Maryland hits 55. And Western Maryland climbs to 61. Rain becomes likely Thursday night with another quarter inch possible. Here's your heads-up for the week ahead. Saturday could be a stunner. We're talking highs near 70 in Baltimore and pushing 76 out west. That's about 42 degrees above normal for early March. A few showers or even a thunderstorm could interrupt the warmth Saturday night. Sunday and Monday stay mild in the mid-60s to near 70. Spring equinox is just two weeks away. Today's grey skies are giving way to something much warmer. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Take care! That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
