Is football’s transfer market getting out of control?In this episode of The Lonely Goalpost, it’s just me sharing my thoughts on the transfer window, deadline day and what I would do differently.My big idea?STOP BUYING PLAYERS FROM CLUBS THAT STOCKPILE THEM.If clubs continually buy up talent only to sell players on for profit, why do other clubs keep lining their pockets?But this episode isn't just about today's transfer market.I'm also heading back to the late 1980s, looking at Manchester United and Tottenham and remembering a very different transfer landscape — when clubs sometimes had to go out and sign a group of players because they genuinely needed to rebuild their team.And for a bit of nostalgia, I'm getting the newspapers out and doing my own little homage to the legend that is James Richardson and those wonderful Football Italia days.Transfers.
