Welcome to part 2 of our August translated books book club (coming to you a few days late in September). This week we're discussing Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Nobel Prize Winning author Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Chronicle of a Death Foretold is a short story about the narrator exploring the events surrounding the murder of Santiago Nasar in their town.

Next month's book club pick: A Secret History by Donna Tartt.

Welcome to book 1 of our August translated books book club episodes! This week we are discussing the book Sweet Bean Paste by Durian Sukegawa. Sweet Bean Paste tells of the story of Sentaro, a man with a criminal record and faded dreams of becoming a writer who spends his days in a small confectionary shop selling doryaki. His life changes when one day Tokue comes into his life, an old woman with disfigured hands and mysterious paste, who makes the best sweet bean paste Sentaro has ever tasted.

Next week's book is another translated work: Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
