In this special trip report episode, we share our thoughts on the recent Brettcon event held in Manchester on September 18-20, 2026 which celebrated the 40th anniversary of Granada's Return of Sherlock Holmes series with its cast and creators (including clips from the panels). We discuss our adventures in England which included a Sherlockian walking tour of Manchester, visiting Leighton Hall (shooting location of Ridling Thorpe Manor in The Dancing Men), a special dinner on Baker Street, and much more!

Holmes and Watson travel to Winchester where they trade barbs (and arrows) with J. Neil Gibson as they attempt to prove the innocence of a wrongly accused governess and solve the Problem of Thor Bridge. In this episode we hear from members of the cast, examine toxophily in Jeremy Brett's family, explore the influence of the Huguenot migration on Conan Doyle and Jeremy Paul, and compare changes from story-to-script-to-screen and beyond. Also, Gus, Luke and David discuss BRETTCON 2026, new Sherlockian books, listener telegrams, and more!
