Coach Harnden moved to the US from Zimbabwe to become a student-athlete himself in the 90s; after a successful career with North Carolina and in the professional ranks, he turned to coaching. In her sophomore year at Syracuse University, international student-athlete Grace Gillard has already taken on the role of co-captain. The defender, born and raised in the UK, learnt her trade at Arsenal Football Club before moving to New York state to play for The Orange. Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake dominated the NCAA Track & Field scenes whilst at Louisiana State University from 2013 to 2017. During that period he was a 10-time All-American, 6-time SEC Champion, SEC Men’s Outdoor Runner of the Year, USTFCCCA Men’s South Central Region Track Athlete of the Year and smashed countless records. Since turning pro in 2017 he has gone on to sign a professional contract with Adidas, been crowned British Champion, won medals at a European, Commonwealth and World level and competed at 2 Olympic Games. His sporting resume speaks for himself but in his chat with Dan he goes deeper and talks about the path that he took to LSU and how his time in the NCAA prepared him for the professional ranks.
