Episode 4 of The Instrument Makers Podcast where I speak with Mark Zandveld of "Bace" and Marek Dąbek of "Stradi"!Mark makes electric basses from cello bodies, and Marek makes electric guitars and basses with a sleek double bass inspired design. Hear the techniques they use to make these instruments, the innovations they had to make regarding wood, microphones, and strings in order to bring this guitar to life, and a reflection of their work so far. They both make incredible instruments that are played and appreciated all around the world. Thank you Mark and Marek.-------------------My website: https://www.theinstrumentmakers.com/

Episode 3 of The Instrument Makers Podcast!I speak with Yuexin and Miles about the state of instrument-making in the US. Miles now runs the last and only brass instrument factory (O'Malley) in America that still makes everything from scratch, and is among the biggest left, ever since Conn-Selmer left the scene, another topic of discussion. And Yuexin, in addition to working at O'Malley Instruments, is a diverse instrument maker herself with experience in machining, making violins, and playing (and hopefully one day) making a banjo! I'm honored to have them on the podcast this week.

I'm excited to have Jeff Tripoli and Sam Fishman on today's episode. They are both amazing percussionists/drummers who have collaborated together on a few projects. They have a knack for exploring sounds, whether that means making field recordings, or making something just for their own needs.
