 The Hood Shrink Podcast's main focus is to help those heal from traumatic life experiences by having difficult, yet necessary conversations surrounding topics that are considered “taboo” in minority communities. It is uncommon to seek professional help and it is frowned upon if you even mention the word therapist. When situations arise in the privacy of one’s home the phrase, “what goes on in this house, stays in this house” is used to protect toxic family members and situations that leave the sufferer in silence. This behavior has inadvertently caused generational curses and is navigating through generations like a plague, causing more harm and hurt to said individuals. Butterfly Brix is dedicated to breaking the silence and helping others overcome trauma by having these discussions surrounding mental, physical, verbal, emotional, sexual, and financial abuse. Together we will debunk the myth “go and pray about it” as a substitute for seeing a licensed professional. This platform is a safe place for those who want to seek help but are not quite ready.
