  • Alcoholism & Sobriety Two Perspectives
    Jul 19 2021

Alcoholism is one topic that can be difficult for people to talk about openly. This episode can be helpful for both a friend or family member as well as the person struggling with addiction. Kendra was kind enough to share her story of betrayal leading to her experience with alcoholism.  We discus what was helpful for her as she worked through the realization of wanting sobriety in her life.  This was a unique opportunity since I am the wife a person who also has a similar story. We talk about things from the two perspectives and why sometimes the normal standards on "how to get sober" do not work for everyone.  I really loved sharing the space with Kendra and hearing some of her unique but impactful ways she worked towards sobriety.

    Jun 7 2021

On this episode of The Hennessy’s House Podcast, Nicole talks to the amazing Arianna Giorgio, who is a singer and a life coach. At 18 years of age, Arianna was diagnosed with terminal Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and was given 5 years to live. Two months after receiving a clear scan, the cancer had returned to her brain and she was given 1 year to live. Arianna talks about her experiences with dealing with both bouts of cancer and overcoming the second one using natural treatments, rather than medical treatments. Years later, Arianna was in a horrific car accident, disconnecting her skull from her spine. Despite this, Arianna learnt to walk and speak again and she talks about what keeps pushing her to overcome the odds. Finally, Arianna speaks about her battle with her mental health and how she dragged herself out of depression after a suicide attempt, as well as offering some valuable tips on what to do and not to do for someone who’s going through a traumatic experience.
