Is God really real if only conceptualized? In another sense, if God only lives in our heads and then is transmitted as an intellectual entity, is God really beyond our thinking? Matt and James try to taste IPAs by just thinking about them.

We speak of divine beings created in the might of our projections. No divine being that is thought of intellectually is real. No “god” wants to be famous for the idea's sake; no real “god” would. Why do we want to sell God? Is it because we live in a society where selling is love?

Matt introduces a concept to help contextualize the awkward spotlight cast upon individuals who have experienced God in the church. Predatory or proclamatory? Invitational or invasive? What is a “God experience?” How can we cultivate genuine divine connection? We don’t land on answers; instead, we float with a skyward gaze.
