But while we embrace timber, we also need to protect our forests and plant more trees to soak up carbon, preserve nature's resources, and enhance biodiversity. Evolving Forests has been investigating whether forest conservation and timber use can truly coexist—whether it's possible to have timber-built homes while actively enhancing the forests that provide the wood. While research and data are essential in finding a way forward, progress ultimately depends on human commitment.
