Welcome to the weekly sermon podcast from Harvest Bible Chapel in Chicago. We’re so glad you’re joining us.
Today, we’re beginning a new teaching series called The Rise and Fall of a King. Over the coming weeks, we’ll walk through the life of David in 1 and 2 Samuel—a story marked by God’s grace, human weakness, and the surprising ways the Lord works out His purposes.
In this first message, we’re in 1 Samuel 16:1–13, where God sends the prophet Samuel to anoint Israel’s next king. As we contrast who the Lord rejects and who the Lord chooses, we’re reminded that God looks not at outward appearance, but at the heart.
