 Growing up in church, I was taught what a successful Christian is supposed to look like. As I grew, I started to see how much I’ve failed at being that ideal image and I’m surprised that I met God, time and time again, in the most ugly, sinful and debase places. According to the standard I was raised with, I am a failed Christian. “The Failed Christian,” is a podcast that is intended to demonstrate the power of God’s grace, forgiveness and mercy, offered to everyone, without restraint. This podcast explores off-colored topics, typically shunned by the church, in order to demonstrate that God is with us, even in our pain, wrong-doing and humanity.       In this last season of my life I've experienced withdrawals, both mentally and physically from an acceptance addiction and a substance dependence. During this time the thing I realized is that the only way for me to get through the withdrawals and remain true to my convictions was to depend on God in a way that I haven't ever really experienced before. Both of my withdrawals from addiction were rooted in dopamine - I wanted to feel good - but it lead to a life of bondage and serving two masters (which isn't possible).
