With the death penalty in the headlines, Justin and G5 talk about how God sees life, death, and justice. Every person carries the image of God, from the best of us to the worst. What does that mean for how Christians respond to execution, murder, and punishment?

They look at capital punishment in the Old Law, the cities of refuge, Romans 13 and the role of government, and Jesus showing mercy to the woman caught in adultery. They also go to the verses where God says plainly that He has no pleasure in the death of the wicked and would rather they turn from their ways and live. The conversation covers dehumanization, the danger of celebrating death, and how repentance, mercy, and the hope of eternal life change the way we see everyone, including the people we find hardest to forgive.
