A cancer diagnosis can be a worrying time and we want to help you through that diagnosis and beyond. What is it like having a scan? What research is going on to make cancer diagnosis better? How can we improve patients' experience of cancer diagnosis? Can we develop better treatments? Researchers from the School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences at King's College London will help you see the bigger picture by talking about their exciting research while patients who have gone through cancer diagnosis and treatment talk about their experiences of having scans and therapy. Through talking together we can find better ways to diagnose and treat cancer, improve patients' experience of cancer diagnosis and keep you up to date with exciting developments in the field of cancer diagnosis and therapy.       Maggie spoke to Dr Rick Southworth about research he is undertaking looking at the heart and the effect of some chemotherapy agents on the heart. He is interested in how we might be able to predict damage to the heart, early detection and ways to protect the heart during cancer treatment. His work has wider impact on cardiovascular research and is still ongoing.
