  • Arizona Weather March 4 Evening - Red Flag Warning
    Mar 5 2026
Good evening. Arizona. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you'll feel seventy-three degrees under perfectly clear skies. That's the kind of morning that reminds you exactly why you live here. But enjoy the calm. Because tomorrow tells a different story. In the next 24 hours. Tonight stays mild across the desert. Central Arizona drops to 54 degrees. Southern Arizona cools to 48. But up north? Flagstaff sits at 30 degrees with a biting southwest wind making it feel closer to 22. Thursday brings the wind. A system diving down from the Pacific Northwest kicks up gusts across the state. Central Arizona hits 79 degrees with gusts to 30 miles an hour. Southern Arizona reaches 80, but gusts could hit 29 miles an hour. The mountains see west winds gusting to 35 miles an hour. That's prompted a Wind Advisory for northern Arizona from 11 A.M. To 7 P.M. and a Red Flag Warning for Cochise and Santa Cruz counties from 1 P.M. To 8 P.M. Fire danger will be elevated, so hold off on any outdoor burning. Friday cools things down. Central Arizona drops to 73 degrees. Southern Arizona falls to 70. Northern Arizona dips to 46 under mostly sunny skies. The weekend brings a rebound. Highs climb back into the upper 70s and low 80s by Sunday. A slow-moving system off Baja could bring rain chances Sunday into Monday. Nothing heavy, but something to watch. Tonight's full moon rises at sunset. With clear skies statewide, it will be a beauty. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. And the spring equinox sits just two weeks away. Grab that extra jacket for the morning if you're up north. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.

Good afternoon. Arizona. I'm Aaron Jolly. Eighty-two degrees and not a cloud in sight. That's the scene right now across the desert. We're running about 20 degrees above normal for early March. And today shapes up as the warmest day of the week. So Central Arizona climbs to 84 degrees this afternoon under brilliant sunshine. Down in Southern Arizona. Tucson and surrounding areas hit 83. But head north to the high country and it's a different world — Flagstaff tops out at 60 degrees with gusts to 25 miles an hour this afternoon. In the next 24 hours. Tonight, that full moon will have plenty of company. Skies stay mostly clear statewide. Lows dip to 54 in the Valley, 48 down south. And a crisp 30 degrees up north. Early risers in Flagstaff tomorrow morning will feel wind chills around 22 degrees. Thursday brings our next weather maker. A system dropping down from the Pacific Northwest kicks up winds and knocks temperatures back. The Valley falls to 79 degrees. Southern Arizona sees gusts to 30 miles an hour. And that combination of wind and dry air triggers a Red Flag Warning from 1 to 8 P.M. For Cochise and Santa Cruz counties. • Arizona Weather March 4 Morning - 20° Above Normal
    Mar 4 2026
Good morning. Arizona. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you might think you're still dreaming. It's sitting at 59 degrees under a thick gray blanket. Those clouds acted like a heavy quilt overnight, keeping temperatures remarkably steady. But don't get too comfortable. That blanket is about to rip right down the middle. In the next 24 hours. Today tells two completely different stories. Down in the Valley, summer is definitely teasing you. You'll climb to a toasty 84 degrees this afternoon. That's running a solid 20 degrees above normal for early March. Down south in Tucson, you're looking at 83. If you can sneak away for lunch, it's perfect hiking weather. But head up to Flagstaff? you're in a different world. Early risers are feeling wind chills near 20 degrees. You'll top out at just 60 degrees this afternoon. That's a massive 24-degree temperature gap between Phoenix and the high country. Tonight, the skies clear out completely. The Valley cools to 55. Tucson drops to 48. And Flagstaff gets a crisp 30 degrees. And here's the real treat. A full moon rises this evening. It should be spectacular against that dark backdrop. Thursday brings a reality check. A cold front sweeps through. Temperatures crash 20 degrees to 15 degrees. And the wind picks up significantly. We're talking gusts to 35 miles an hour in the high country. A Wind Advisory runs from 11 A.M. To 7 P.M. For areas near the Mogollon Rim and White Mountains. Looking ahead, the forecast turns into a roller coaster. Friday cools you down further. The weekend warms right back up. Then a cutoff low drifts in from Baja. That brings a slight chance of showers by Sunday and Monday. Nothing heavy, but something to watch. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight today. The spring equinox is just two weeks away. Winter is losing its grip. Even if the mountains aren't ready to admit it. Charge your phone before you head out tonight. You'll want a photo of that moon. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Take care That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
