Good morning. Arizona. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you might think you're still dreaming. It's sitting at 59 degrees under a thick gray blanket. Those clouds acted like a heavy quilt overnight, keeping temperatures remarkably steady. But don't get too comfortable. That blanket is about to rip right down the middle. In the next 24 hours. Today tells two completely different stories. Down in the Valley, summer is definitely teasing you. You'll climb to a toasty 84 degrees this afternoon. That's running a solid 20 degrees above normal for early March. Down south in Tucson, you're looking at 83. If you can sneak away for lunch, it's perfect hiking weather. But head up to Flagstaff? you're in a different world. Early risers are feeling wind chills near 20 degrees. You'll top out at just 60 degrees this afternoon. That's a massive 24-degree temperature gap between Phoenix and the high country. Tonight, the skies clear out completely. The Valley cools to 55. Tucson drops to 48. And Flagstaff gets a crisp 30 degrees. And here's the real treat. A full moon rises this evening. It should be spectacular against that dark backdrop. Thursday brings a reality check. A cold front sweeps through. Temperatures crash 20 degrees to 15 degrees. And the wind picks up significantly. We're talking gusts to 35 miles an hour in the high country. A Wind Advisory runs from 11 A.M. To 7 P.M. For areas near the Mogollon Rim and White Mountains. Looking ahead, the forecast turns into a roller coaster. Friday cools you down further. The weekend warms right back up. Then a cutoff low drifts in from Baja. That brings a slight chance of showers by Sunday and Monday. Nothing heavy, but something to watch. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight today. The spring equinox is just two weeks away. Winter is losing its grip. Even if the mountains aren't ready to admit it. Charge your phone before you head out tonight. You'll want a photo of that moon. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Take care That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
