In this episode, Daniel D'Neuville shares how we process information. Most of what reaches you has already been filtered. Your mechanisms of mind like your reticular activating system continuously sorts the dynamic flux of the universe according to what you’ve already decided matters. That sorting creates a self-reflective loop of perception: confirmation bias feeds and confirms the filter, the filter determines what you notice, and what you notice further hardens the bias. Over time the loop produces perceptual decay—clarity narrows and the world begins to feel smaller than it is.

The escape is not tighter control of the filter but the deliberate entertainment of new questions. New questions interrupt the loop, reopen the field, and return you to perceptual stewardship.

This episode is in response to a listener's question and speaks to the phenomena of encountering a message that seems crafted just for you. IDaniel wishes he could take credit for it, but it is all you. It speaks to your receptivity, your openness, and your current questions, both conscious and unconscious.

Listen and maybe this message is just for you.

What do you do when an uncomfortable feeling shows up? Most people do what they've always done — push it away, override it, or try to solve it as fast as possible. That's not a character flaw. It's a deeply conditioned survival response.

But it's also costing you something.

In this episode, Daniel D'Neuville invites you into a different relationship with discomfort: one of inquiry. He shares a deceptively simple story — irritation while making his morning coffee — and what happened when instead of resisting it, he followed it inward. What he found wasn't chaos. It was a need. A real, human need to be nurtured.

He unpacks the dominant sub-personality — the internal driver that takes the wheel when you're not consciously in authorship — and explores what it means to interrupt that pattern without forcing it.

Then he offers a quiet contrast: the next evening, preparing coffee for the morning ahead. A small gesture. A profound orientation. Being in service of your future self.

This is what emotional intelligence actually looks like in practice — not dramatic breakthroughs, but real moments, lived consciously.

Most people reach a point and wonder "How did I get here?, Why are I not further along?' "I thought life would be different?" This podcast episode is about shifting things and coming to term with why things are the way they are...

It begins with a decision, a declaration... next is how you are BEING about it. The trouble is we tolerate less than amazing situations, because we're comfortable. It's not that bad, soo.. we continue on. This episode is a call to action.

In this 5 Minute Friday, Daniel shares his insights on a term used by the French called Joie de Vire, the joy of life. It's more than which can be conveyed in English, it is an unreasonable stance on being in joy. A love affair with life.

For Daniel it has always been a state of being worthy of expressing, listen and discover if you can embody this state of mind for yourself.
