Good morning. Tennessee. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you might do a double take at the calendar. We're sitting at 63 degrees under gray skies, but don't let that fool you. We're headed for a high near 79 degrees this afternoon. That's a solid 53 degrees warmer than usual for early March. Even the overnight low only managed 62 degrees. Your thermometer basically took the night off. In the next 24 hours. Here's the breakdown across Tennessee. Middle Tennessee holds onto the clouds today with south winds around 10 miles an hour, gusting to 20. You might see a few sprinkles after 9 P.M., but most of us stay dry. Thursday climbs even further to 81 degrees. Out in West Tennessee, you get partly sunny skies and a high near 79. A few isolated showers develop after 8 P.M. Tonight with a low around 65. Thursday hits 80. East Tennessee has the coolest readings of the bunch, but 75 degrees is still impressive. Light winds keep it pleasant under partly cloudy skies. Tonight drops to 55. Thursday reaches 80 there as well. Looking ahead, we're challenging record highs through Friday. Temperatures push into the low 80s before Friday afternoon brings our next chance of storms. Saturday looks wet statewide with showers and thunderstorms likely. That system cools us down briefly, but we rebound back into the upper 70s by early next week. The spring equinox is two weeks away, but the weather didn't get the memo. Tonight's full moon rises at sunset — 5:45 P.M. — and we're gaining over two minutes of daylight every single day. If you're getting your garden ready early, get that soil turned over while it's this warm. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
