the Devil Card is always about struggle and conflict, whether that be addictions or struggle with in your relationships or working in two different directions pulling against one another. it can be spiritual struggle that you can’t quite come to terms with the direction you’re going or what you have to do to get there or miscommunication with spirit. what we have to do is look at the consequences of the struggle that we’re in whether it is overindulgence in an activity Or a substance. We are still too far to one side the pendulum has swung too far one direction and has to come back to center There can’t be one way or the other it has to be a balance and the devil card when it comes up says that something in your life is out of balance are you have you fallen into depression have you forgotten to take your medication are you not willing to take your medication to stay in balance are you anxious all the time and you’re not doing anything to help you’re not be anxious by doing the deep breathing exercises or whatever it is you do to help with your anxiety We are a bit out of control we are eating too much eating too much of the wrong things we’re drinking too much ah drinking too much alcohol is what I mean We are out of balance we are not our pendulum is too far one way or the other and the double card brings that to focus it can also mean that you are Especially in relationships you are beginning to separate from the relationship with A person with a job with an entity or a business you’re beginning to question them you’re beginning to have conflict with them you can’t get anybody on the phone you can’t get the right answers from the IRS you can’t Get any answers at the state level you can’t get any answers from your bank and you’re just an incredible conflict with them in most cards there’s two people hanging out Not looking at each other they’re not working together so in relationships it may be means that the relationship is starting to go south and not working for either one of you anymore there’s the inner struggle which addictions are a outward sign of the struggle within it is anger gone too far we addicted to the anger are we addicted to pacifism Too much of one thing is bad that’s where we have balance coming in the devil can also bring us to doubt it brings us to uncertainty and are we about to fail are we about to fall over are we about to do something that is contrary to what we know is correct or to what people are telling us incorrect are we so far depressed that we have to leave our our mates our spouses or we have to leave our jobs or the worst case scenarios do we need to leave this world so that out of balance that the devil calls us into to bring us down into a lower vibrating existence the double card signals that possibly you have reached rock bottom and that you can’t go any further and it’s a call to heal the shadow side of that is that you very well might be realizing you’re out of balance and you go to rehab realizing that the relationship really isn’t working and you go to counseling together..........

Good morning again. In this particular episode of tarot Talks with Edith Mary, we are going to be doing the Death Card today. The Death Card never ever ever means death of the physical body, though it can. I've never seen it in the years that I have been reading tarot. It does, however, mean that death is a part of our existence every single day. We die, we're one day closer to death every day.

Our skin cells die, our hair cells die. We transform and change because we are a different person today than we were yesterday. And tomorrow we're going to be an even different person, simply because the experiences we go through change us and we transform because of it. So change is a two-way street. You can change your mind frequently and hopefully you do change it towards a higher purpose, but you don't have to.

Transformation, however, is one direction and one direction only. You can transform yourself from that chrysalis into a beautiful butterfly or you can go the other way. If you want to transform yourself into a really nasty, horrible human being, you can. The choice is yours. I would, however, recommend transforming yourself in a more higher spiritual way.

We transform ourselves in many, many different ways. We get married, we have children, we change careers, we go back to school. All of those things are transformative. When something happens to us and forces our growth is something that is transformative. You should choose it because it's easier when you do choose.

Wildfires are very destructive, but what comes out of the wildfire is new growth. Some pine trees cannot seed until they're broke open, the pine cones are broken open by fire. So even in the destruction, there is beauty, there is new growth, and that is the way it happens with our lives as well. Anytime there is something that appears to be destructive, there is always something new and beautiful being created in the process. So never be afraid of what appears to be destruction or what appears to be doom and gloom. It isn't. It is simply making way for the better new things in your life.

So if death appears in a reading, major changes are afloat for the client.

These are life-changing events. Like we've already talked about, getting a job, getting married, getting engaged, getting, well, hopefully you got engaged before you got married, but you know, hey, who am I to say?

It's kind of like a soul shaking kind of change that's coming.

When you see the death card and particularly when you see the death card and the tower card together, there's a real danger of something destructive happening. When you see those two cards together, I would make sure you've got the fire department on speed dial so that you are prepared when the house burns down. It is that kind of dramatic thing happening.

but it doesn't have to be like that, that destructive and that emotionally traumatizing. You can make it a lot easier by realizing it is a phase, it is a thing, and you can move forward and you can heal and you can become that new person you were meant to be. Now, on a softer note, it doesn't have to be that dramatic. It can be as dramatic or as less dramatic as

  • Justice

The number 11 in most decks of the Tarot is the Justice card. Justice is normally seated in between two pillars. They're no longer black and white. They're all gray.

This card has to do with compassion, truth, honesty, and balance. Balance in all things. We need balance in all things specifically because if you're unbalanced, you're not thinking correctly, you're not acting correctly.

The gray pillars also indicate that we are seeing all of the nuances of a situation or have the possibility to see all of the nuances of a situation because you don't always know all of the details.

And so we sometimes are a little quick to justice or quick to judge when we don't really have all of the facts and we're speaking from a place of ignorance of the facts. So the Justice Card is also a warning to make sure you have all of your knowledge before you make a decision, which is a compassionate way of doing things.

Compassion lies between conviction and punishment. is neutral. Compassion is neutral because you can understand the pain from both sides. You can understand the hurt or the joy from both sides. But you're neutral with your own life and you're neutral with other people.

in your listening, in your day-to-day relationships, in your work relationships, you can remain neutral and understanding while still loving them.

In most decks, Justice is not blindfolded, but she is showing compassion with her Justice, weighing our hearts and intentions against a set of universal truths. Justice sees beyond the personal agendas, beyond revenge, beyond the action to act out, beyond the emotion that can be present.

As in, Justice likes to stay neutral, understanding both sides, not taking sides, just being neutral and listening. It's an opportunity when you see the Justice card come up to step back and observe without participating. Don't step into the drama that's being presented. Don't step into other people's arguments.

You're not the judge, not the jury, you are the observer, the listener, the compassionate neutrality that most situations call for, especially if there are arguments or personal agendas going on.

The Sword of Justice is a double-edged sword and it cuts both ways. Honesty is much the same. The truth will set you free, but if stated with nastiness, the truth is meant to hurt rather than to heal. So no compassion is being used in a situation like that. The Justice Card always wants to state things from compassion and not emotion.

The Justice card also deals with the mundane world, legal matters, signing of contracts, illegal paperwork, all matters dealing with truth, honesty, and legality, which is very cut and dry, which is why Justice is a double-edged sword.

If the justice card is in a shadow position, you may feel that life is unfair, that people are against you, situations are not going your way, people are making decisions for you. You may feel personally under attack.

If you get to respond during this feeling of being personally attacked, is usually, not usually, but it's always from a place of pain. If you take a step back and go, this isn't about me, this is about the other person, and understand it from that point of view of their pain, you've stepped into compassion.

So it is always good that anytime that there is a two-sided conversation that is not going well, step back and listen with compassion and when it's time to speak, speak neutrally without blame and without shame. questions to consider when you are working with the Justice Card is, am I doing the right thing?

Has karma ever come back to bite me in the butt? And if so, how? And how did I participate in that? We always participate

  • Wheel of Fortune

today we are taking a deep dive into the Wheel of Fortune.

In the Wheel of Fortune, we see the full gamut of emotions and feelings that we experience in our lives. The old attitude, what goes around comes around definitely applies here with the Wheel of Fortune because you have up days, you have down days. We have up cycles in your life where everything is going well for a few months and then it seems to all disappear. That's all about the cycles.

You cannot have all good or all bad. It just doesn't exist in the universe that we live in. Life is always in flux. It changes from moment to moment. There is absolutely nothing we can do about it. We can't stop it. Nor should we. Because without that steady progression, we don't grow, we don't learn. Life would be like the Ferris wheel got stuck at the top.

What we can do, however, is change the way we perceive the situation we're in.

    we can choose to.

Do the, woe is me, look what life is doing to me, I'm miserable, and the whole world is against me. Or you can choose to see it as a learning opportunity, what went wrong, how did I participate in it, and how can I fix it.

That will get you out of the down cycle a little quicker by just thinking about it from a different perspective. The literally how can I fix this situation because you're asking for at that point for your spirit guides advice on what to do when this happens again and how to get out of it.

The Wheel of Fortune can signal anything that brings change. That could be getting a different job, going to rehab, going back to school, having a child, getting married or not. It's just anything that heralds a change, usually a major change. In general, this card

If it's in the upright or positive position, generally indicates more of the same. If it's in the shadow position, it's going to indicate that, maybe things aren't going to go quite as well as we thought they were. And we go back to the questions of how did I participate in this and how do I fix it?

We all know that life is a cycle.

The only thing we can change is our perception. And that choice belongs to you of how to view your life. That's what the Wheel of Fortune actually gives us the opportunity to do, to view our life a bit differently. In addition, the Wheel of Fortune also represents unexpected encounters.

Unexpected events or sudden and intense twists of fate. Kind of like the Tower Card. If you get the Wheel of Fortune and the Tower Card together, either something really, really, really, really incredibly wonderful is about to happen or your life is about to tank. So be prepared and be, have, that's a nice warning to have. It can feel like life is speeding up, passing you by.

Or you can feel like it's just slowed down and it's creeping along at a snail's pace. The choice again to view how that happens is yours, whether to take that opportunity and turn it into a learning experience for getting out of it now and how not to get into it next time.

The lessons we learn from this cycle can turn us bitter or they can be those unexpected opportunities to change the way we think. Because when we change the way we think, we change our behavior. And those two things can go a very long way towards improving your life and your circumstances dramatically, which is one of the big lessons of the Wheel of Fortune.

The shadow side of the Wheel of Fortune can also be a warning that karma is about to come get you. If you've been mean and nasty and the Wheel of Fortune is taking a downturn, guess what you're going to get back? Precisely what you put in. It can also represent a descent into mental health issues or going into recovery.
