  • Revisting the Hollywood Sportatorium with Added Music
    Feb 18 2026

One of the first episodes in the Tales From South Florida podcast series was a TALK Down Memory Lane to recall an old steel hanger of a concert venue that captivated the hearts, souls and memories of most of us who lived here from the early 1970's through the early 1990's; The Hollywood Sportaatorium.

In this episode we go back to that podcast, but we've added something new. A musical tribute written by Bill Monty truly with vocals and music by SUNO.

Please note that this music is copyrighted and all rights reserved by the aforementioned parties.

If you have heard the episode previously, enjoy it once more with the new song added at the end.

  • TV Shows: Flipper and Miami Vice
    Feb 9 2026

When Joseph Young named his local parcel of land Hollywood, he was hoping to mirror in South Florida the burgeoning film industry of its Californian namesake. While the aspiration seemed lofty, South Florida did indeed become a cinematic hotspot, especially during the mid to late 20th century. This week, we delve into two iconic television shows that not only showcased the unique allure of South Florida but also left an indelible mark on American culture.

Perhaps no two shows had as much impact as a little half-hour drama about a family living in the Keys with a pet dolphin and another about two cops fighting the drug cartels of the 1980's.

In this week's episode we look back on these two entertaining yet vastly different takes on our area and lifestyles.

It's time to Take a TALK down Memory Lane once more for the Tale of Flipper and Miami Vice.
