À propos de cette écoute

Hey everyone, my name is Alicia. I'm making this podcast to talk about my story of my mental health and to help others out with not giving advice or giving professional help but to give a peace of mind that we are ALL "Still Here" and to give an ear to lend when someone needs it. I want to help others not be alone and not be silent. I want everyone to feel heard because mental health is not something to be kept in the dark or silence when we should be asking fo help whether you're afraid to or not. • The Truth About Mom Guilt
      Jul 13 2025

Mom guilt is something so many of us carry - quietly, heavily and often alone. In this episode of Still Here, we gently explore what mom guilt really is, where it comes from and how it often shows up in our day-to-day lives. We talk about the unrealistic expectations placed on mothers, the pressure to always be everything to everyone and the internalized belief that doing something for yourself means you’re falling short.

Together, we’ll challenge the narrative that says you’re not doing enough and begin to reclaim the truth: that you’re worthy of rest, joy and self-compassion - just as you are.

✨ You are not alone and you were never meant to carry this guilt by yourself.

    • Mini Check-In: Holding Space for What’s Happening Right Now
      Jun 14 2025

In this short, reflective episode, I pause to acknowledge the heartbreak so many are feeling as families are being torn apart by ICE. As a proud Mexican American Latina, as a mother, as someone still here—I couldn’t stay silent. This is not a typical episode, but it’s a necessary one.

This mini check-in is a moment to breathe, to grieve, and to connect. It’s a reminder that your voice matters, your pain is valid, and our community is not alone in feeling the weight of what’s happening right now.

🕊️ May this space hold you gently.

🫶🏽 May we remember our shared humanity.

🇲🇽🇺🇸 United in heart, even when systems divide.

    • You Are Not a Burden - Breaking internalized Shame
      Jun 10 2025

So many of us carry the quiet weight of internalized shame - the voice that says we’re too much, not enough or a burden to those around us. In this heartfelt episode of Still Here, we’re talking honestly about what it means to believe you’re a burden and how that belief is rooted in trauma, unmet needs and the pressure to always hold it together.

We explore the importance of naming these feelings, the power of reclaiming your worth and how offering yourself compassion can begin to soften the shame. You are not too much. You are not alone. You are not a burden.
